How To Burn Fat Fast And Other Useful Tips For Building Muscle

Everyone has a desire to burn fat quickly. You know how difficult it can be on a diet program or an exercise program. It can be very hard. There are two things to pay attention to – diet and exercise – in order to lose weight quickly. This, I’m sure comes as no surprise, but there are ways and things you can do to increase the effectiveness of your diet and exercise programs.

By following the tips presented you can increase your metabolism and shed all those unwanted pounds quickly.

1. Add plenty of fiber to your daily diet. The fat burning process is help with fiber and promotes general good health. A good 25 grams of fiber each day is what you should aim for. Ten grams of fiber is the average for Americans today. Fiber is obtained by adding whole wheat breads, cereals, pastas, fruit, vegetables and nuts.

2. Going to bed hungry is not a good idea. A vegetable is healthy snack to have before going to bed and avoid going to bed hungry. Foods like white breads and pastas, fruit juice and many other foods contain simple carbs keep your body from burning fat. Low carb foods may cause body fat deposits to increase while you are sleeping.

3. Eat less, eat more. Small meals spread throughout the day keeps hunger pangs at bay. Another simple change: eat your vegetables before your heavier main course. This can help fill you up so you are less tempted to eat too much of the less healthy foods.

4. The amount of food does matter. Americans have a poor sense of the size of a portion to be served. Learn to portion control your meals. By using a smaller plate you will serve a smaller portion and eat slowly.

5. Eat before you workout. To help get the maximum benefits from each workout, have a snack that is low in carbs and high in protein. This may help you exercise longer and at a more intense pace, which means more calories are burned away! Eat your snack ninety minutes before your workout, any sooner and you’ll get the reverse effect.

6. Inhale and exhale with your nose. Practice inhaling and exhaling through your nose. It helps your heart rate stabilize so your stamina is greater. This means more exercise, and of course, more calories are used up and burned off.

7. Interval training – for example – walking. Walk at a brisk pace then slow down and walk for three minutes. Gradually increasing the time of your brisk walking pace. If you want to break into running this is a good way to begin. Burning off calories and fat will be faster.

8. By doing weights first will warn up your body to proceed with a cardio exercise. It takes 15-20 minutes for your body to warn up to do cardio and you will burn more calories. Always start your weight training with some stretching exercises.

9. Variety is the spice of life! Variety is the key if you want to burn fat fast. Doing the same workout each day dooms you to a weight loss plateau. For effective fat loss, add some variety. Your routine should feature a mix of cardio, strength, and flexibility workouts. By doing the same exercise, your body becomes an expert at it. It doesn’t need to exert itself to perform it, meaning you burn fewer calories.

10. Add weights to lose weight. Adding weights to your routine helps you burn more calories and build stronger muscles. Even adding some bicep curls while you’re on your treadmill can help you see results sooner.

It takes both diet and exercise to burn fat fast. Simple changes as the examples given above can reap big benefits.

The Benefits of Walking

I live in Manhattan, a busy, bustling city. Something very interesting that I’ve noticed is the fact that our city’s obesity rate is very much lower than that of the rest of the country.

Do we eat healthier foods? Perhaps to an extent, though the city is filled with delicious pizza restaurants, burger joints, and other unhealthy food genres that seem to attract very many patrons on a regular basis.

What I came to realize is that this is all most likely a result of the fact that people tend to walk here as a means of getting from place to place. Compare this to the rest of the driving world, and one group of people is burning more calories every day.

Even if you’re simply walking to a train, you’ll usually have to walk at least a quarter of a mile in order to get to the station, and probably the same once you’re leaving the station. That’s a half mile right there, and there are many advantages to walking as a result.

This would be an afterthought in most places, since cars can easily get us from place to place. However, it’s led me to realize that walking regularly can very effectively be a means of keeping one’s weight down.

Let’s say you spent 30 minutes walking on a daily basis. You’d probably end up burning off close to 100 calories during this span. Do that for a month, and you can see how that might add up over time. Now consider the idea of doing it for years.

That’s over nearly the equivalent of running a mile at a pretty aggressive pace. You’d have to think that someone who ran a mile per day would be in pretty good physical condition, wouldn’t you?

Some people have short attention spans and may have difficulty walking instead of driving. Replace your car radio with an MP3 player and some headphones, or make a phone call to keep you occupied as you walk.

This is a small suggestion, but one that can make a world of difference if you begin walking on a daily basis. Try it out for a few months and there’s a very good chance that you’ll have some great results to show for it.

Ovarian Cyst Pain – What Every Woman With Ovarian Cysts Should Know.

Ever wondered what causes the intense and often times unbearable pain of ovarian cysts? This article will look briefly at what ovarian cysts are, how they are formed, but most importantly what you need to do, to avoid the risk of losing your ovary/ovaries.

What are ovarian cysts? An ovarian cyst is a sac, sometimes called a follicle that contains fluids or semi solid materials that develop in the ovary. They are very similar to blisters and most cysts form as a result of a woman’s monthly menstrual cycle.

Ovarian cysts, tend to be more common in women still in their child bearing years. But it is possible for a woman who has passed menopause to develop cysts

There are different types of cysts depending on how they are formed. The most common ones are called functional cysts and are formed as a result of the normal ovulation process.

Every month as part of your reproductive cycle, one of your ovaries produces an egg. This egg is housed in a shell called a follicle in the ovary. Once this follicle matures, it releases the egg which burst out of the ovary and travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus.

The empty shell that once housed the egg in the ovary, now called the corpus luteum then dissolves away naturally if pregnancy does not occur and the whole process starts all over again.

Sometimes due to an imbalance of hormones in a woman’s body, instead of the follicle rupturing and releasing it contents, holds on to it and starts to get bigger. It may eventually collapse on itself causing the woman a great deal of pain.

The other more common type of cyst is the corpus luteum cyst. This forms when instead of the shell (corpus luteum), after releasing the egg, dissolving away naturally, closes up on itself retaining all its contents and again starts to grow.

What causes the ovarian cyst pain? The pain you get from cysts arise because:

1. The cyst ruptures i.e. bursts

2. The cyst is growing rapidly and stretching

3. There is bleeding into the cyst from blood tiny blood vessels

4. Torsion – where the cyst twists around its blood supply

What are the consequences of using the conventional treatment for ovarian cysts?

The conventional treatment for ovarian cysts is the use birth control pills and surgery; unfortunately both remedies do not address the root cause of your ovarian cysts.

Many women have gone on to develop cysts on the other ovary after been through one surgery to remove a cyst from one ovary.

Unfortunately, some women have lost both ovaries as a result of developing ovarian cysts on both ovaries but you do not have to suffer that fate.

The other treatment for ovarian cysts is the use of birth control pills but prolonged and extensive use of contraceptive pills to stop you ovulating can cause infertility.

You do not have to suffer unbearable and excruciating Ovarian Cyst Pain neither do you have to lose your ovaries or keep taking on birth control pills for the rest of your life. There is a natural and holistic remedy that eliminates ovarian cysts right from its root. It will teach you how to immediately Relieve Intense Pain To find out more visit www.squidoo.com/ovarian_cyst_pain

There are many ways to predicting your ovulation date but the 3 most popular ones are the cervical mucus method, which is also the most reliable. The other two are using your basal body temperature and using ovulation kits.

As a very general rule of the thumb, to calculate your ovulation day simply subtract 14 from the length of your menstrual cycle. So for example if you have a 26 day menstrual cycle you are likely to ovulate on (26-14=11) day 12.

If you have both been examined by your doctors and there are no medical reasons why you can’t have children then timing sexual intercourse is crucial.

Unlike the man who is fertile for most of his life, a woman is only fertile for a certain number of days in any one month. Known as your fertile window, it is when your ovary releases an egg and for conception to take place that egg need to be fertilised within the next 24 hours.

If your partners sperm is ready and waiting even before the egg is released from your ovary, then you have a better chance of conception taking place.

Losing Weight With The Acai berry

The fitness boom of the 80′s left Americans in somewhat better shape but often misinformed and over-working themselves and under nourished. It also led to the fad of diet pills, powders and the roller-coaster diet. The fitness fad didn’t really go away going into the 90′s, but the ill effects of these diet pills, crash diets and unhealthy eating plans left, for lack of a better term, a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. As the new century broke, so did our outlook in fitness, exercise, diets and foods, along with how they relate to our bodies.

An indigenous product of the Amazon rainforests, the acai berry is known to contain essential nutrients like antioxidants, vitamins, omega acids, fibers and health elements like calcium, magnesium and zinc. These nutrients help the body in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels thus lowering the risk of heart diseases, keeping the digestive system in proper form and essentially help in weight loss.

Coming from central and South America’s swamplands and harvested from 15-30 meter plants, the life of an acai berry is very short, so they are often squeezed for their juice and pulp within a day or two from picking. Packed and sent off to be used in juice blends, smoothies, converted to powder form for supplements and compressed to make pills.

As we know a high fiber diet is very important when a person is watching his weight. Fibers are known to give a feeling of fullness and hence a person feels less hungry. As these berries are highly fibrous they tend to curb the hunger pangs, thus keeping a check on unnecessary food intake.

The other thing about Acai berry is that it has numerous vitamins. It even includes fatty acids which increases the blood circulation of our body. With all these benefits the Acai berry is termed as the miracle fruit of the deep Amazon rain forest by different experts. So, go for Acai berry and make your life free from any diseases.

Acai Berry Science currently offers 2 free bonus gifts when you complete your free supplement order today. Acai Berry Science also offers you a 60 day return policy if you are un satisfied for some reason with your supplement. To learn more visit Acai Berry Science Review

Cysts On Ovaries: What You Need To Know And Do To Get Rid Of Ovarian Cysts For Good.

Cysts on ovaries arise mainly because of a woman’s normal ovulation process, but before we address how they come about, let’s answer the question – what are these cysts?

Cysts are small fluid or semi solid filled sacs that develop on a woman’s ovaries. They are most common in women in their reproductive years and tend to go away naturally without the woman doing anything about them.

Most cysts are harmless but some can become troublesome and cause problems such as bleeding, rupturing, and abdominal pain.

How do these cysts form?

Women normally have two ovaries that store and release eggs on a monthly basis. Each ovary about the size of a walnut, is located on each side of a woman’s uterus.

One ovary produces and releases an egg each month, as part of a woman’s monthly menstrual cycle.

The egg is enclosed in a sac called a follicle and this follicle grows inside the ovary until the hormone estrogen signals the uterus to prepare itself for the egg. The follicle containing the egg is then released from the ovary.

The follicle itself then releases the egg it contains and this egg then travels down the fallopian tube into the uterus.

The shell that is left behind after the follicle has released the egg is called Corpus luteum

In turn, the uterus begins to thicken itself and prepare for pregnancy. If the egg is not fertilised all the contents of uterus as expelled as part of the monthly menstrual cycle.

If a follicle after being released from the ovary fails to rupture and release the egg, the fluid remains and forms a cyst on the ovary.

Ovarian cysts tend to resemble bubbles; filled with fluid and surrounded by thin walls. This type of cyst is called a functional or simple cyst and can affect women of all ages.

Most of them are also benign (meaning non-cancerous) and tend to disappear on their own within a few weeks without any form of treatment.

Types of Cysts That Can Form On Ovaries:

The most common ovarian cyst is the Follicular cyst and it is formed when ovulation (the release of the egg by the follicle) does not occur or when a mature follicle collapses on itself.

It can grow to about 2.3 inches in diameter and when it ruptures can create a sharp severe pain on the side of the ovary on which the cyst resides. Usually, these cysts don’t produce any symptoms and disappear by themselves within a few months.

Other types of cysts on ovaries include the Corpus luteum cyst: This type of functional ovarian cyst occurs after an egg has been released from a follicle.

After this happens, the follicle becomes what is known as a corpus luteum.

If a pregnancy does not occur, the corpus luteum usually breaks down and disappears. It may, however, close up on itself, fill with fluid or blood, and persist on the ovary.

Hemorrhagic cyst: This type of functional cyst occurs when bleeding occurs within a cyst.

Dermoid cyst: This abnormal cyst usually affects younger women and may grow to 6 inches in diameter.

This cyst is similar to those present on skin tissue and can contain fat and occasionally bone, hair, and cartilage.

If you reading this article then chances are you have some sort of cysts on your ovaries that has refused to resolve itself and you are wondering what to do.

Greasy Hair Causes, Treatment, and Best Greasy Hair Products

Greasy hair never seems to stay fresh and clean, and can look heavy and flat. Within a few hours of shampooing it refuses to stay full and light and it takes on a stringy appearance. Along with looking oily, greasy hair can appear lifeless, lank and dull. Does this sound familiar to you? Do you ask yourself “why is my hair greasy?” Even if they wash it everyday, others can judge that the sufferer does not wash their hair frequently and doesn’t have good hygiene. This can cause much social embarrassment.

The grease found in hair is called sebum and is oil that is produced natural by the body. Each of the hairs on your head has a gland called the sebaceous gland immediately under the skin, this gland produces sebum. Oil in greasy hair protects each strand form split ends and dryness, and is in fact a sign of healthy hair. Sebum is made as lubrication for the skin and hair, providing a protective barrier and preventing drying. Sebum is the body’s own natural moisturizer.

Greasy hair is excess of sebum in the hair and comes as a result of an over production of sebum (oil) from over active sebaceous glands, stimulated by hormones called androgens. Androgens are male hormones that are present in both men and women, but are higher in men. Androgens do two things: First, they enlarge the sebaceous glands in the skin. Second, they cause these glands to increase oil production.

As hormones have a role in sebum production, fluctuating hormone levels can be one of the causes of greasy hair. Greasy hair can most commonly be found in older women experiencing the menopause, teenagers in puberty, and women in general because of their monthly cycle or pregnancy. Stress can also be a cause of greasy hair as it can affect hormone levels. People who have fine hair can sometimes suffer form greasy hair because they have more hair follicles and more hair follicles means more sebum producing glands on the scalp.

There are many external causes of greasy hair. Over washing your hair can cause increase sebum production as frequent washing can strip the hair and scalp of all oils causing the sebaceous glands to excrete more to combat this. A build-up of grease can occur due to washing your hair too often. Scrubbing your hair and scalp vigorously while washing you hair can stimulate hair grease. Touching your hair can also increase the glands to over-stimulate, as can vigorous brushing which can carry the oil throughout your hair. Environmental factors such as everyday pollutants can cause hair to look greasy, as can the over use of hair styling products as the products build-up at the roots.

There can also be a number of internal causes of greasy hair. I have already mentioned fluctuating hormone levels; however one of the leading causes when it comes to causes of greasy hair is your diet. Diets in the Western world are typically much greasier, higher in fat and sugar, processed and contain additives, the high fat content increasing levels of oil in the skin, potentially causing greasy hair. A diet that is low in vitamin B can also be a cause of greasy hair, along with the hormones often found in the meat of Western diets which can add to unbalanced hormones.

The best way of avoiding, preventing, treating and getting rid of greasy hair is to treat it from the outside and the inside. On the outside: steer clear of brushing your hair too frequently, and too vigorously. Avoid using a moisturizing shampoo as this can leave some oil in the hair. An extra cleansing or clarifying shampoo that has a mild-ph is the best shampoo to use for greasy hair. When shampooing, massage you hair and scalp lightly and do not scrub your hair and scalp.

When shampooing, leave the shampoo in your hair for approximately 5 minutes for a better clean. Rinse and shampoo again if necessary. It’s up to you as to how often you should wash your hair. Once or twice a week is the ideal but to find your own balance of washing and oil production start with washing once a day, reducing how often you wash as you find that balance. If you are going to condition your hair, use a conditioner designed especially for greasy hair, and apply the conditioner not to the roots but to the mid and ends of your hair. If you use a hair dryer to style your hair, heat will stimulate oil production, so don’t let it get too hot.

With the inside: do all that you can to reduce and eliminate any and all stress. In your diet, consider using a vitamin B supplement. Make sure you eat plenty of whole grains, seeds, nuts, leafy green vegetables, salads and fresh fish. Reduce the amount of fatty foods that you eat, avoiding greasy, fried and fatty foods as much as possible. Reduce the number of white flour based foods in your diet, foods like pastries, pasta and bread. Lastly, avoid sugar and sugary foods like biscuits, cakes and soft drinks.

Hair Loss & Thinning Hair Information

For millions of people world-wide, everyday is a “bad hair” day due to the problem of thinning hair or baldness. Discussing hair loss with a doctor is an important first step. There are a number of treatments available these days that make hair loss or thinning hair easier to live with. A concern not only experienced by men but by a growing number of women is Alopecia, or the excessive and abnormal loss of healthy hair. Traumatic situations and genetics can be the cause of hair thinning and loss and also by hormonal fluctuations, excessive physical force or poor nutrition. While these factors can affect both men and women, hair thinning and loss usually occurs for:

Men A thinning crown or receding hair line is the most common pattern of hair loss. Hair loss occurs due to the presence of a derivative or by-product of testosterone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This hormone can shrink the hair follicles and has a greater effect in the mid-anterior scalp and temples. Some types of male hair loss are:Acute diffuse alopecia – occurs from physical or psychological factors such as hormones, nutritional deficiencies or medications.Chronic Diffuse Alopecia – can occur due to nutritional, metabolic or endocrine issues. Androgenetic Alopecia – occurs due to genetic sensitivity to male hormones. This rarely affects women.

Women Most cases of hair thinning and loss are as a result of hormonal fluctuations, ie during pregnancy, childbirth or use of some methods of birth control. Women can also experience: Anagen effluvium – occurs due to chemotherapy. The matrix of the hair becomes damaged and, as a result, the hair shaft will narrow, eventually fracturing. Traction alopecia – caused by severe hairstyles, such as ponytails that are too tight, braiding, cornrows or the frequent use of extensions. These procedures pull at hair over a period of time but loss can be prevented if recognized and treated early.

You can minimize or even stop hair thinning or loss, if you identify the symptoms early enough, by using a variety of pharmacy or store treatments such as: a). A weekly use, leave-in scalp treatment made with essential oils – oils such as lavender and orange will relax and unblock hair follicles to promote growth, regulate oil production and maintain cell repair. b). Daily vitamin supplement – look for ones labelled especially for hair and/or nails and are fortified with Vitamin B3 (niacin), this protects the hair shaft, and antioxidants, to ward off damage from free radicals. c). Disguising hair loss techniques: Maybe it’s time to consider some techniques to disguise your hair loss if you are dissatisfied with your thinning hair. Whether you’re male or female losing hair due to genetics, stress, medication or a medical circumstance you can use these methods to help you cope. Using a Thickening Hair Shampoo or Conditioner Use a thickening hair shampoo and conditioner intended to camouflage hair loss by making the hair seem to be thicker. Brush your hair lightly after you have shampooed and conditioned to prevent losing even more hair, and let your hair dry completely before you comb or brush it.

Hair Styling Methods for Thicker Looking Hair Here are a few methods and styling products that can be used, if your head of hair is not as thick as it once was, to keep your hair looking its best. Blow drying thin hair for a fuller appearance. For thinning hair, try blow drying your hair after you have washed and conditioned it and then comb your hair in front all the way back. Use a light hairspray or a mousse to keep your style in place. The blow drying will prevent your hair from matting and make it appear thicker than it is. Opt for hair texturizing lotions and creams that will provide you with abundance and volume. Use a leave-in hair conditioner as they can make your hair appear fuller and more textured. Pass up on hair gels as they matte your hair together and exaggerate your hair loss.

Extending your Hair Hair extensions are a quick and simple method for men and women with long thick hair to disguise the fact that they are losing some hair. Employ a salon for adding natural human hair to your head. This option can last for several weeks to several months.

Blow-drying your Hair Think about blow drying your hair if it is thinning on top to give it more texture and body and to give your head more coverage. Brush your hair into a quiff by brushing it from the forehead up. Preserve your hair style with a touch of hairspray. If your hair is thinning all over, this is a good and effective technique to make your hair look fuller. Get a Buzz Cut – Guys Actors, sports stars, and businessmen all employ the buzz cut as a method of hiding the fact that they are thinning on top. It is a trendy, popular style that is easy to keep up. Purchase a wet-dry electric razor to groom your scalp every day and to remove the hairs you have remaining for a fresh look. If you’re worried about losing your hair or if your hair is beginning to thin, pay a visit to your barber or stylist and ask for suggestions for a new hair style. There are plenty of hairstyles to choose from that will permit you to look your very best.

How Does Aging Affect Your Hair?

At any age grey hair can materialize. It’s not always an indication of aging, it’s caused by a dropping off in pigmentation (grey hair) or a complete lack of pigment (white hair), and the basis for it is not fully known. The most obvious symbol of aging is the changing colour of our hair. As we age our hair produces less melanin, the same melanin that gives our skin its colour. This is the reason our hair turns grey.

Age also has an effect on our hair in other ways. A number of women will notice that their hair thins and lacks life, for others it will appear to be dry and coarse. As we get older our hair starts to get drier, and needs more moisture. Older hair often loses some of its elasticity and the consistency alters. This is because as we get older the size of our hair follicles get smaller and hair growth slows down. Therefore there is not as much new growth to replace what is lost.

Sebum (oil produced naturally by our skin) lessens as our body ages, and so our hair, as a result, loses its natural shine and softness. Plus, during the menopause our production of keratin slows. This protein fibre is important to keeping our hair healthy and strong. For men, there is the issue of going bald, thinning hair and coarse hair, especially the facial hair. Select the correct type of hair colour to disguise your grey hair, but don’t go more than two shades darker or lighter than your natural hair colour. If you use a dark colour it can emphasize a dull complexion.

If you want to keep your grey, endeavour to use a hair shampoo and conditioner that is targeted especially for grey hair. Grey hair can look yellow or greenish on some people. To neutralize the yellow colour and leave your hair shiny and beautiful, try using a greying shampoo that contains a violet based colour, instead of your usual shampoo. Highlights or lowlights can disguise any grey you want to disguise by blending them into the rest of your hair. The same goes for colouring your hair. Avoid going more than two shades lighter than your natural hair colour to avoid looking older than you really are.

Moisturizing (conditioning) is a requirement for older hair. Use a weekly deep conditioning treatment – suggested for aging hair. This will help to preserve the moisture levels in your hair. As time goes by your hair loses its elasticity and this makes it more difficult to style, so try using a protein treatment at least once a month to assist your hair. For men and women, thinning hair can be given a more voluminous look by using volumizing products such as conditioners and mousses.

How to Care for Grey Hair

As we age, our hair produces less melanin, the same melanin that gives our skin its colour. The most evident sign of aging is the changing colour of our hair. This is the reason our hair becomes grey. At any age grey hair can appear. It’s not always a sign of aging. It is caused by a decline in pigment (grey hair) or a complete loss of pigment (white hair). The cause for it is not fully understood.

Age also has an effect on our hair in other ways. As we get older our hair is prone to getting drier, and so needs more moisture than ever before. Older hair also loses some of its elasticity and the texture alters. A number of women will notice that their hair becomes thinner and lacks life, for others it seems dry and coarse. This occurs because as we age, the size of the hair follicles diminish and hair growth slows. Consequently there is not so much new growth to replace what we lose.

Sebum (oil produced naturally by our skin) lessens as we age, and as a consequence our hair, therefore, lacks its natural shine and softness. And our production of keratin also slows during the menopause. This particular protein fibre is a must in maintaining healthy, strong hair. Going bald, having thinning hair and coarse hair is a subject that affects many men, plus facial hair. To conceal your grey hair opt for the right shade of hair colour. If you use a dark colour it can draw attention to a dull complexion. So do not use a colour more than a couple of tones darker or lighter than your own hair colour.

Lowlights or highlights can conceal any grey you want to disguise by merging them into the rest of your head of hair. The same with hair colourants, stay away from going more than a couple of shades lighter than your own hair colour. That way you will not end up appearing older than you really are. Grey hair can appear yellow or greenish on many people. If you fancy keeping your grey hair, opt for using a hair shampoo and conditioner that is made especially for grey hair. To counteract the yellow colour and leave your hair shiny and good-looking, why not use a greying shampoo that has a violet base colour, instead of your everyday shampoo.

Moisturizing (conditioning) is a must for older hair. Use a weekly deep conditioning treatment – recommended for aging hair. This will help to maintain the moisture levels in your hair. With aging your hair loses its elasticity and this makes it harder to style, so try using a protein treatment at least once a month to help your hair along. For men and women, thinning hair can be given a more voluminous appearance by using volumizing products such as conditioners and mousses.
