A Creed To Live By

I believe in myself.
I believe in those who work with me.
I believe in my employer.
I believe in my friends.
I believe in my family.

I believe that God will lend me everything I need with which to succeed if I do my best to earn it through faithful and honest service.

I believe in prayer and I will never close my eyes in sleep without praying for divine guidance to the end that I will be patient with other people and tolerant with those who do not believe as I do.

I believe that success is the result of intelligent effort and does not depend upon luck or sharp practices or double-crossing friends, fellow men or my employer.

I believe I will get out of life exactly what I put into it, therefore I will be careful to conduct myself toward others as I would want them to act toward me.

I will not slander those whom I do not like.

I will not slight my work no matter what I may see others doing.

I will render the best service of which I am capable because I have pledged myself to succeed in life and I know that success is always the result of conscientious and efficient effort.

Finally, I will forgive those who offend me because I realize that I shall sometimes offend others and I will need their forgiveness.

Fibroid Tumors Treatment: Natural Alternatives

Fibroids suck. Any woman with them will tell you how miserable a fibroid(s) can make daily life…but for a woman like me (35 no children yet), finding out you have one is like getting sucker punched in the gut. Why? because usually it has a major affect on being able to have children. Most of the time a Fibroid diagnosis turns into a hysterectomy discussion. I’m way toooo young for that!

I WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN. I just wasn’t planning on having them RIGHT now. I’m not a fan of prescription drugs, surgeries, doctors, or hospitals. I figure with prayer and all natural alternatives I’ll be just fine. No weapon formed against my womb and my unborn children shall prosper!

My Regimen:
Lots of PRAYER!
Chinese Herbal Tea from Dr. Shen
Alkaline Water from my friend Leslie
Belly Dancing, Dr. Sunyatta Amen’s dvd
ASEA, repairs cellular damage and reduces oxidative stress

Clearly I’m not a doctor nor do I play one on tv (lol)…my years of personal experience with doctors tells me that they don’t know everything, and after watching Nurse Jackie (LOL) it’s obvious they hold out on alternative treatments that could be beneficial to patients…If I can take all natural products without worrying about crazy side effects or having to be part of a class action suit in a few years because the prescription did more and worse than it was suppose to…..that’s what I’d rather do. If I can Belly Dance away an unsightly fibroid gut then that’s what I’m gonna do. If I can drink alkaline water and take ASEA to improve my overall health…then that’s exactly what I’ll do! If PRAYER changes things I’ll pray without ceasing and P.U.S.H.

If Your Life Sucks, Is It YOUR Fault?

Many people live by default unwilling to accept responsibility for the circumstances of their lives or their environment. I’ve heard and seen the mantra “2009 IS MINE” over and over. If 2009 is yours, what are you doing differently from what you did in 2008? Remember, to do the same things expecting different results is insanity!

What if I told you that you could drastically improve the quality of your life, the life of those around you, and your environment by simply controlling your emotions, using the power of prayer, and by thinking the right thoughts? Would you tell me its impossible? Or Would you have an open mind willing to try it for yourself? Before you answer that question please watch this video:

Have You Ever Used Your MIND to Heal Yourself or Someone Else?

I’m a firm believer that with God ALL things are possible and that quantum physics is directly tied to spiritual laws and principles. I guess that explains why I found this video interesting. Check it out:

I know some folks will say its impossible to heal Yourself only God (or a doctor) can heal you. And others will take it even further and say its the work of the devil. Some will go even further. I’m fully prepared. I believe God is not bound to our Earthly imaginations, interpretations, and limitations. God is without limits. God can do anything and as my mom says (God can do anything but fail). The very act of prayer requires the mind doesn’t? So is it really impossible for someone to be healed from prayer which usually begins using the mind right? Check out this video before you answer that question:

The Unemployed Graduate

I received this touching email forward the other day, enjoy :)

“The unemployment rate — now at a five-year high of 6.1 percent — is expected to hit 7 or 7.5 percent by late 2009…”–AP

An unemployed graduate woke up one morning and checked his pocket. All he had left was $10. He decided to use it to buy food and then wait for death as he was too proud to go begging. He was frustrated as he could find no job; nobody was ready to help him.

He bought food and as he sat down to eat, an old man and two little children came along and asked him to help them with food as they had not eaten for almost a week. He looked at them. They were so lean that he could see their bones coming out. Their eyes had gone into the socket.

With the last bit of compassion he had, he gave them the food. The old man and children prayed for him that will bless and prosper him and then gave him a very old coin.

The young graduate said to them “you need the prayer more than I do”.

With no money, no job, no food, the young graduate went under the bridge to rest and wait for death. As he was about to sleep, he saw an old newspaper on the floor. He picked it up, and suddenly he saw an advertisement for people with old coins to come to a certain address.

He decided to go there with the old coin the old man gave him. On getting to the place, he gave the proprietor the coin. Alas, the proprietor screamed, brought out a big book and showed the young
graduate a photograph. this same old coin was worth $3M. The young graduate was overjoyed as the proprietor gave him a bank draft for $3M within an hour. He collected the Bank Draft, went in search of the old man and little children.

By the time he got to where he left them eating, they had gone. He inquired from the owner of the canteen who told him that they even left a note for him. He quickly opened the note thinking it would lead him to find them.

But alas, the words in the note reads thus:

“You gave us your all and we have rewarded you back with the coin”
Signed God the Father,
The Son and The Holy Ghost.

Have you given all to Jesus Christ? If you haven’t, do so today and he will surprise you.

PRAYER:
Here is your financial blessing! It’s a simple prayer, you got 30 seconds?

Heavenly Father, most Gracious and Loving God, I pray to you that you abundantly Bless my family and me. I know that you ecognize, that a family is more than just a mother, father, sister, brother, husband and wife, but all Who believe and trust in you.

Father, I send up a prayer request for financial blessing for not only the person who sent this to me, but for
Me and all that I have forwarded this message on to. And that the power of joined prayer by those who believe and trust in you is more powerful than anything. I thank you in advance for your blessings.

Father God, deliver the person reading this right now and those who will read it in the near future from debt and debt burdens. Release your Godly wisdom that I may be a good steward over all that You have given me Father, for I know how wonderful and mighty you are and how if we just obey you and walk in your word and have the faith of a Mustard seed that you will pour out blessings.

I thank you now Lord for the recent blessings I have received and for the blessings yet to come Because I know you are not done with me yet.
In Jesus name,
I pray, Amen

Acknowledging God

A newly arrived soul in Heaven was met by St. Peter. The saint toured the soul around Heaven. Both of them walked side by side inside a large workroom filled with angels. St. Peter stopped in front of the first section and said, “This is the Receiving Section. Here, all the petitions to God said in prayer are received”. The soul looked at the section, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets from all the people of the world.

They walked again until they reached the 2nd section, and St. Peter told the soul, “This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are packed and delivered to the persons who asked for them down on earth.” The soul saw how busy it was. There were so many angels working in that room, since so many blessing were being packed and delivered to Earth.

Finally at the farthest corner of the room, the soul stopped at the last section. To the surprise of the soul, only one angel stayed there idly, doing nothing. “This is the Acknowledging Section,” St. Peter told the soul. “How is it that, there is no work here?” “That’s the sad thing,” St. Peter answered. “After the people received the blessings they asked for, very few send their acknowledgments”. “How does one acknowledge God’s blessing?” “Simple,” St. Peter answered. “Just say, “Thank you, Lord.”

Thank you Lord, for giving me the chance to share this message with others and also, for giving me so many wonderful people to share this with.

U Grow Girl #4 and #5

decugg07It’s been awhile since I’ve given a progress report on what’s happening with U Grow Girl.  We are still going and growing strong!  Our first meeting started with four and now we are 7.

Meeting #4 was in December and was very different from our regular meetings.  We convened with a spread fit for queens.  We gained a new member and received her into our circle with open arms.

We spent a great deal of time talking about miracles, blessings, and answered prayers that we all were experiencing and witnessing in our lives.  By the meetings end, I’m certain we all had a much deeper and greater understanding of how nothing is impossible to those that believe.  Our hearts were encouraged.

janugg08January marked our 5th U Grow Girl meeting.  We gained a new member whom we embraced and welcomed into our circle.

We decided with the New Year, we would revisit our goals, create new goal boards, and share them at our next meeting. We discussed and prayed for healing, health, and wellness. We shared our thoughts on wives ‘submitting’ to their husbands.  We talked about the importance of having our group and maintaining relationships with women in general.  This really touched me as I looked around the room in amazement…I had a friend from when I was six years old and a friend from 5th grade right there!  After all of these years we’re still growing together.   This meeting was so intense none of us were ready for it to end.  We are all looking forward to our next meeting on Feb 24th.  As Coach Ace says, “those who show up, go up!”

I love our U Grow Girl meetings and I’m so thankful to be in such awesome company.

I Believe in Miracles

In times when it seems that the world is going to hell in a gasoline handbasket I still believe in miracles. I’ve been blessed and am blessed daily and have no choice but to believe in miracles. In my 32 years I’ve seen and experienced some things that cannot be explained.

mir·a·cle
An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God.

As November becomes December and we get in a frenzy about the holidays its important that we not lose sight as to what the holidays are really about…the holiday season is rooted in MIRACLES.

No matter what you personally believe in, you cannot deny that all of the rituals, observances, and symbols surrounding this time of year are rooted in miracles…The miracle of the fat man in a red suit flying with reindeer sliding down chimneys with gifts, the miracle of enough olive oil for one night lasting 8 nights during the re-dedication of the temple, and the birth of Jesus to a virgin.

While we celebrate all of these things it often seems that many of us are reluctant to really believe in miracles. Yet when we examine our own lives everyone of us can attest to miracles.

Today I’m thinking about a conversation I had a few weeks ago with a friend. We were talking about worrying and how worrying doesn’t help things. I had a similar conversation this afternoon with my big sister. It has taken me many years to understand that worry causes stress and stress manifests mess. I now live free of stress because I KNOW without a doubt that I am blessed.

This same time 7 years ago I was sick riddled with Sarcoidosis barely able to get out bed some days and on an assortment of medications getting shots in my hip! (I HATE needles). Today I’m healthy, I feel great, and I’m not on any medication :) (Thank God).

mta I remember standing on the bus stop at 4am to get to the train station to catch another bus to get to work by six. I remember working late (after the bus stopped running) and having to call friends and family for rides home. I remember the days of rain and cars passing by drenching me on the bus stop. I recall days of missing buses and trains by a second. I recall days when buses just passed me by…I remember when my first car a 1983 Buick Regal threw a rod on a bridge in Virginia.

photo002.jpgI remember when the transmission in my old Chrysler, Taurus, and Fairmont died. I have the painful memory of losing the Palm My Ride Contest in which I was competing for a new Ford Mustang. I remember the day before Christmas last year when our car was stolen (got it back hours later that same day).

This year, The day after Thanksgiving we were blessed with a new car.

I’m BlessedToday I’m driving a 2008 Camry! (God is Good).

I believe with all my heart that my Maker is well aware of my needs and has it all under control (my every need is supplied) no matter how things may look to my natural eye. It’s not our place to worry about anything. A few weeks ago a friend expressed concern about praying and waiting for things to happen, her view is its about taking action. I get that… After all, faith without works is dead…

However, I know the power of prayer and have seen it at work in my life. My prayers are answered. Sometimes I have to wait for the answers to manifest because God works in His time not mine. Miracles and prayer go hand in hand. Miracles and blessings are very real! Prayer is powerful. No matter what the situation, no matter how dismal things may seem, we all have access to divine intervention.

Nothing is impossible to those that believe.

Let it Go!

This is one of my favorite email forwards that makes its rounds a couple times of year. My friend Shonda sent it to me this morning enjoy :)
LET IT GO by T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this!
When people can walk away from you: let them walk.

I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you,
Loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you,
Staying attached to you.
I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

People leave you because Read the full story

Support for Overcoming Grief: Depression

My heart has been heavy all week with the fires and the tragedy at the Long Beach Pier. I know that I am not the only one as people have been expressing their feelings about it too. At this point I’m not sure what all I can do to show my support other than to pray… I do believe strongly in the power of prayer and I know prayer availeth much. Along with my prayers I hope what I share today on this blog touches who ever it needs to touch……..

There are hurting people all over the world, some near and dear to our hearts. It is often easy for us to be so caught up in our own lives that we are oblivious to what might be going on in someone else’s life…

Living life abundantly means caring not just for ourselves but for others. To truly experience abundant living we must have compassion and Love in our hearts for our fellow man and be concerned not only for our own best interests, but also the interests of others.

Each day the news tells of horrors and tragedies going on all around us. Too often we flip the channel or move on to whatever is next on our agenda because often the story seemingly has no direct affect or impact on our individual lives.(say a prayer, reach out, send a card, do something…)

What many of us fail to realize is, Read the full story

Updated 10/31/2007—>27 year old, Husband, & Father of 3 Drowned

Yesterday afternoon I received a call requesting prayer for my cousin. There were no details available at the time I was told that her husband had jumped off a pier and drowned while they were out scattering her mothers ashes.

I flipped through the news but the only news that made the news was fires. I looked online and found nothing to explain why a young man would jump from a pier. This morning I came across this article Read the full story
