The Reason Why Personal Growth Is So Important

The Reason Why Personal Growth Is So Important

It is not easy to achieve personal growth, but if you are able to achieve this, it can do wonders for you. There are so many benefits that you can enjoy when you are able acquire the right skills and qualities.

Personal Growth Skills That You Need

When you work on altering your life, success is going to be your main goal. All efforts will mean nothing when you achieve nothing in the end. To ensure success, you need to have the right tools and the following are quite essential for you to have:

Passion. Passion is a natural fuel that allows a person to break through barriers. It gives one the natural angst to want success and it empowers even the weakest person.

Hunger for learning. Wisdom and knowledge allows a person to spread his wings and enables him to reach out to borders he normally cannot reach. Your hunger for learning will teach you to be ambitious.

Self-awareness. You have to know who you are and you have to get in tune with your strengths and your weaknesses, so that you can use them well in your endeavors.

Boldness. Risks are hard to take but those who gain the courage to go outside the box achieve things that will set them apart from all the others. Risks are dangerous about they can make a big difference in your life.

Vision. What do you want to achieve? You should be able to picture your dreams and you should not be limited by society and your own fears. Picture success and picture yourself in it.

When to Change

Change is part of life and if you are experiencing the following things, then you should start finding a way out of your miserable life:

Are you having trouble committing to something? You have great dreams and you have awesome ideas. You find it quite easy to set yourself to do something, but you are unable to finish what you’ve started. Often times, you easily lose focus and you jump to other things, as easily as you have gone to the last thing you have tried to do.

Are you always thinking of quitting? You have very poor survival skills. At a small sign of a threat, you cower and back down. You are a coward and you are afraid of risks.

Are you always feeling victimized? No matter what you do, you are oppressed and put down by the people you deal with. People always find fault at what you do and you cannot please anyone.

Are you always stuck in the same situation? Your life is wretched and every time you get yourself out of a situation, you end up being back there again. It is like you are destined to live the life that you have now.

Are you unable to forgive yourself? Have you done something wrong that has caused some catastrophic effects in your life? Forgiveness is not only for others, it is also for yourself. You cannot dwell on the wrong things you have done. You have to forgive yourself and learn from your mistakes, instead.

If any of these apply to you, then now would be a good time for you to consider change and work towards personal growth.

What Would Your Life Be Like Without Excuses?

During my college days at good ole Hampton, I learned an important lesson that:

1. I’ll never forget.
2. I apply to all areas of my life.
3. I share with loved ones…

Are you ready for this amazing and profound lesson that I had to travel three thousand miles to learn? (smile) Here it is:

EXCUSES
“Excuses Are B.S. That No One Wants To Hear, Excuses Are Tools Of Incompetence Which Build Monuments Of Nothingness, And Those That Specialize In Using Them—Rarely Accomplish Anything.”

Stop making excuses and start making it happen :) No more I can’t because or would’ve, could’ve, and should’ve!
So the next time you fix your mouth to say “Yeah But” I hope you’ll remember Excuses.

What Would Your Life Be Like Without Excuses? EXCUSES BEGONE!

“When you eliminate the need to explain your shortcomings or failures, you’ll awaken to the life of your dreams. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer takes you through the seven questions that constitute the Excuses Begone paradigm and demonstrates how to make the shift in thinking that can change your life forever!”

Living Life Abundantly Success Formula

Setting and Meeting Personal Goals for Self-Development

There is a formula which we can use to set personal goals to enhance our professional and individual growth. To decide what these goals should be, we first have to look within ourselves.

We need to examine our skills, our commitment, our ability to prioritize, to accept failure and more.

We all have the self-awareness necessary to examine ourselves and set the goals which will help us to achieve personal development.

You must evaluate and develop these abilities; this will enable you to set these goals for yourself and to meet them. You’ll want to begin by thinking carefully about your goals, both in the short term and long term, as well as devising a plan to meet these goals.

Brainstorming will help you to come up with new ideas. These ideas are what will put you on the road to success. This process will also allow you to get new perspectives on things; be sure to take notes, you don’t want to come up with a great idea only to forget it later – your notes can also be useful in coming up with a plan of action to meet your goals.

When you sit down to turn your notes into a plan, start with your short term goals. These goals should serve as a build up to your long term goals and should be things you want to do in the next three to four years. Are you planning to move, change jobs, perhaps start your own business? The answers to these questions will lead you towards your long term goals.

Let’s say that you want to open a business sometime in the next three years. How will you open it? What kind of business do you want to start up anyways? Where will your start up capital come from? You will need to do a little research and examine all of the options and resources which are available to you.

This step will prepare you to seek additional resources out and build on your goals to make a positive change in your life.

Once you have a viable plan for meeting your short term goals, it’s time to really think about the long term. What do you envision yourself doing in ten years? In twenty? Listen to that inner voice as you come up with a plan and don’t forget to write your ideas down.

Your long and short term goals should be in accordance with one another. If your short term goal is to start a business, then your long term goals should build on this. Begin marshaling the resources to achieve your goals.

Positively Thinking Out of the Box

Exactly how does one think outside of the box?

creative thinkingObviously, this is something which is inherently a task to be undertaken by an individual – let us look at an example of “outside the box” thinking.

Try cutting a cake into eight slices with three cuts or less.

A lot of people will have some difficulty thinking of how this could be done; but the answer is to look at the cake differently. You can cut the cake into halves and stack them on top of each other. Cut these two halves into halves again and then stack all of these pieces and make one last cut – you now have eight slices, all thanks to “outside the box” thinking.

Another example would be solving this: here are four words: add, subtract, multiply, decrease – which does not belong? Most would tell you right away that “decrease” is the odd word out here. Why? Because all the other words are mathematical terms and “decrease” is not. However, an out of the box thinker might say that “add” is the one which does not fit, having three letters instead of six or more. There are several right answers here and the more creative your answer, the more you will stand out.

The way our minds usually work when solving a problem is to draw on our past. For instance, what if you were asked to name two days whose names start with the letter T. You’d sat Tuesday and Thursday, right? What about Tomorrow and Today? That is thinking out of the box. Companies are always testing new products to make sure that their design is effective and provides a good cost/benefit ratio. However, most of these companies are losing out by only looking to their past to provide a template for future development. While patterns be very useful for some activities (like driving), these patterns can keep us from coming up with effective alternate solutions when we face problems.

thinkOne thing you can do to break your pattern-based way of thinking is to try out the reverse of what you would normally do; this lets you get a new and different perspective on the problem. This is how Henry Ford came up with his innovations. He began with “bring people to work” and by looking at things differently, decided to try “bringing work to the people” – which is what made him such a success.

Another method to find creative solutions is to try not to think about the subject. Instead, think about people or subjects in motion and use this as your basis for an entirely new design or solution.

If you want to really think outside of the box, don’t worry if some of your ideas are really off the wall – they might be just crazy enough to work!

Move away from your old, rigid ways of thinking and go ahead and use your absurd ideas; consider all of your ideas, no matter how odd.

Let go of the question and let go of your stress by not trying to force the square peg of your creativity into the round hole of the problem. Once you let all of this go, you may find that the solution comes right to you.

You can try out of the box thinking just for fun too. Just don’t do it in situations where it could cause you trouble!

Using creative thinking, you can put together disparate elements to produce truly innovative solutions. Being someone who thinks outside of the box can work well for you professionally – and is rewarding in its own right as well.

Never forget that you could have your very own brand of genius. You may have some creative and different ideas which can assist you in your personal growth. That’s what living life abundantly is all about.

Try thinking a little differently and you may be surprised at how effective you can be in solving problems. Think outside of the box and you can achieve things that may surprise you»

Thankful for Paths Crossed

Each year I become even more mindful of the fact that people really do come into our lives for a reason, season, or lifetime.

humankindIn evaluating my own relationships its very clear who my reasons, seasons, and lifetimes are and vice versa. As we approach Thanksgiving and like everyone else I suppose… I am deeply introspecting, reflecting, and meditating on everything and everyone that I am thankful for. God is Good! I’m very thankful to have crossed paths with such remarkable people throughout my life and I look forward to crossing paths with many more.

A Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or
a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you
will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON . . . It is
usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have
come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you
with guidance and support, to aid you physically,
emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a
godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason
you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you
sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount
of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the
person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said
that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

U Grow Girl #3

Our third meeting of U Grow Girl was awesome!

ugg32.jpgIt gets even better with each meeting.

This month we gained a new member, we are now 5 strong!

We each gave a progress report on our goals, recapped our 1st two meetings, and welcomed and embraced our new member.

We learned about a contest which provides women interested in starting a business with $50,000 in seed money and encouraged each other to participate.

Our growth in our U Grow Girl! Circle of Thought involves changing our thinking to change our lives and life long learning.

Some of our goals include enhancing our finances. So we are proactively changing our thoughts and attitudes about finances and increasing our knowledge and understanding as it relates to financial matters.

We talked about financial empowerment and concepts from Robert Kiyoski’s books. We explored the definitions of:

  • Asset

  • Budget

  • Business Owner

  • Cash Flow

  • Consumerism

  • Earned income

  • Employee

We also discussed the importance of avoiding cynicism and learning to find the good not just in every situation but in others as well.

In our discussion we also explored:

ASK and it shall be given.

SEEK and you shall find.

KNOCK and the door will be opened.

Our next meeting is December 2nd. Our plan is to continue our discussion about financial empowerment and explore the importance of Sisters and maintaining relationships with girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, nieces, cousins, and extended family.

With each meeting we grow and after each meeting we are all always looking forward to the next. It is a blessing to be in the company of such amazing women.
Team work truly makes the dream work!
