What Makes An Entrepreneur Tick?

Entrepreneurs go against the grain…they don’t follow herds, they lead herds!  They make tough decisions avoiding paths of least resistance, favoring rocky roads less traveled lol…  Entrepreneurs must be confident, thick skinned, determined, and have a “Yes I Can” attitude to make it.

When you start a business, you are doing something different than most people. The entrepreneur is often the butt of many jokes and deals with ridicule more often than not.  People can and will be cruel with ignorant comments like:

  • “You can’t make a living like that”
  • “That will never work.”
  • “You’ll fail because nobody can ever make any money that way.”

The entrepreneur cannot allow such comments to break his or her spirit.  It comes with the territory.

Entrepreneurship is not just about having great ideas, business sense, or thick skin. It is also about having moxy (guts and/or boldness).  You have to have self-confidence. You must believe in yourself.  An entrepreneur  is not concerned with what people “think” they should do or be. Entrepreneurs follow their heart and do what they feel is right and everything falls into place.  Look at:

  • Bill Gates
  • Russell Simons
  • Richard Branson
  • Debbi Fields
  • Rachael Ray
  • Tom Anderson
  • Kevin Rose
  • Michael Dell

YOU Can Do It Too!

People are often too busy competing with society and “keeping up with the Jones’s” that they do things they are not comfortable with just to appease others and to look “normal” (whatever that is.)… Live life Abundantly by doing what makes you happy.  When you’re happy you are at your best.  When you are at your best you inspire the best in others.  Don’t be afraid to break away from the herd.

Do you!

What Entrepreneurs Should Know About Blogging

Learning to blog can be a frustrating process but if you are an entrepreneur looking to establish an Internet presence, blogging is a must. According to recent studies:

→ More than 147 million Americans use the Internet.
→ 22 of the 100 most popular websites in the world are blogs.
→ Over 12 million American adults currently maintain a blog.
→ Over 57 million Americans read blogs.
→ Blog readers average 23 hours online each week.
→ 51% of blog readers shop online.

Are you beginning to understand the power of blogging? Some people learn how to blog by trial and error. People that are serious about blogging learn from experienced bloggers. Blogging has become an effective tool for marketing, promoting, activism, self expression, sharing information, and heightening awareness.

I think that every entrepreneur should take the time and make the investment in learning how to blog. I’ll be honest with you. When it comes to blogging, there is so much to learn. I’m still learning (daily). However, just as there is much to learn, there is much gain, especially for entrepreneurs!

One of my best friends started a business last year and asked me to help her set up a blog. She’s an attorney and doesn’t have a lot of time for trial and error methods. She has committed herself to learning as much about blogging as possible. Not to toot my own horn or anything…but with my help, her blog is not only doing extremely well (she’s won some awards, gotten rave reviews, received offers from advertisers, and has a Google PageRank of 3). She has also started 3 other blogs!

If you are an entrepreneur here is what you need to know about blogging:

  • How to Choose A Domain Name
  • Which Blogging Platform to Use
  • How to Set Up Your Blog
  • How to Update Your Blog
  • Which Plugins to Use
  • How to Create Content
  • How to Drive Traffic to Your Blog
  • How to Use Social Bookmarking
  • How and When to Write a Press Release
  • How to Increase Your Blogs Rankings
  • How to Monetize Your Blog
  • How to Use RSS

Don’t let this list intimidate you. If you have the time and patience to learn about blogging, there are several books, online courses, and systems that will guide you through the process. Last week I had an opportunity to review a powerful training system for aspiring bloggers that provides all of the aforementioned and more. I wish the information was available when I first started blogging…it would’ve saved me some time and frustration. Check it out Here.

I also suggest exploring my list of Top 50 Best Blogs to get an idea of what experienced bloggers are doing.

Many of these bloggers offer tutorials and advice on blogging.

I have learned a great deal about blogging from these bloggers, from books, webinars, online courses, trial and error, and independent research.

As I said before, I’m still learning.

Travel Business Opportunity

The travel industry is growing 23% faster than the global economy and is a $703 billion industry. Smart entrepreneurs are cashing in by starting their own travel businesses from the comfort of their homes.

Towervacation

YTB is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs interested in a low investment low maintenance business with great income potential and lots of perks. As a person interested in traveling, the most attractive aspect of this business is earning commissions off my own travel.

Instead of booking my trips through the usual suspects (priceline, hotwire, cheaptickets) and getting nothing back…the idea of cash back is very appealing. But even more attractive is the the upgrades and benefits as an insider in the travel industry community (first class possibilities are always good).

This seems like a no brainer. Everyone travels, we all know people that travel, or who are planning to travel. Why not have them book their travel through you? Why not book your own travel from yourself? Why not share this opportunity with anyone interested in traveling and making money?

I’ve reviewed this business seen the company overview and I give it 5 stars. Check it out for yourself and thank me later (smile).
