The Tao Te Ching is an ancient Chinese text that is thought to have been written around 6th century BC, by the sage Lao Tzu. The pronunciation and meaning of the book’s title is Tao(Dow) Te(De) Ching(Jing) with Tao meaning “the great way”, Te meaning “the virtue of” & Ching meaning “the book”. The text contains 81 brief chapters or verses which all speak to the very nature of mankind.
Many say the Tao Te Ching is a manual for achieving a way of life that literally guarantees integrity, joy, peace and balance in our lives. Through studying Tao text many have come to a more elightened self-awareness. Dr. Wayne Dyer breaks down the shifts that must occur in our thinking in order to align with our true nature as human beings, which ultimately leads to well-being in every area of our lives. In Dyer’s book Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life he lays out the thoughts that must be changed according to the wisdom of the Tao.
Every living creature has a nature, and human beings are no exception. However, humans are the only creatures who do not trust their nature, which leads to an unbalanced life and environment. The modern world in which we live conditions us at every turn to go against our nature, but the teachings in the Tao Te Ching brings our natural state of being back into focus.
So what is the nature of human beings? It is well-being, love, happiness, kindness, abundance and wealth. Most of us believe that we must suffer, strive, struggle, endure and stress in our quest for things outside of ourselves in order to be happy, and that is not our natural state of being at all.

Thinking big TO Thinking small
We don’t do big things, we do small things and thus accomplish great things.
Seeing yourself as separate TO Seeing yourself as connected to everyone & everything in the Universe
See yourself in everyone you encounter.
