More than half of the employed population points to their jobs as the main stressor in their lives. It is not surprising to meet a lot of stressful factors when you work in an office. Yet, most people do not admit the fact that they are stressed. Some aren’t even aware that their changing characteristics are results from too much stress. Most people do not know how to say “No” when they are faced with a big amount of workload. We tend to accept the workload given to us even if it is more than what we can handle.

Curing stress is a lot more complicated than it seems. The basic idea in curing stress is to change some aspects of your life so you would not get into or get stuck in the same exact situations. Some situations cause us stress, but sometimes we get ourselves in those situations. More often than not, we even create those kinds of situations then get ourselves into it.

Anxiety is defined as the condition wherein a person anticipates a realistic or perceived threat and is filled with uneasiness and worry while doing so. The feeling of anxiety is often a result of a painful past experience that left the person in emotional trauma. Speaking or performing in public, for instance, are situations where most people really feel the anxiety, especially if a past experiences with those situations were nothing you would want to remember.

All of us have experienced stress. There is no one in this world that is exempted from it. As we go on with our lives, there will be situations and events that we encounter that will cause us stress. Some of these events can be avoided, such as traffic. There are situations that we cannot avoid, such as breaking down of relationships, or the current economic crisis. There is nothing we can do when the economy falls, we can only prepare before it happens, or adapt to it. For those that have not experienced this before, it can get very stressful.

It may sound trivial, but needs to be repeated nevertheless: stress is a dangerous health condition that is able to ruin your health in only a few months’ time and cause your death after only a couple of years. High blood pressure, lowering immune system’s defence capabilities, heart attacks and dozens of other potentially lethal effects are directly stress-induced. While the reasons of stress may differ depending on an individual person lifestyle, the effects are equally dangerous and hard to cope with.
