Doing the same things over and over expecting different results is insanity. The only way to get different results is to change what we do. The process of change begins in our minds. Our thoughts help shape and create our circumstances in life. Living life abundantly is a continuous process of training and transforming our minds to achieve optimal living.

My name is Marenda. I started this blog with the intentions of expressing my thoughts, provoking thought, bridging gaps, and sparking conversation. The agenda is to entertain, educate, and empower. The goal is to inspire, encourage, and uplift. The mission is to Live Life Abundantly and to share the lifestyle with as many people as possible.

2 Cd’s released in 2007 Every Woman Should Have!

If Mary J. Blige is the queen of Hip Hop Soul then Keyshia Cole is no doubt the princess!

When it comes to music, I am extremely particular about what I listen to.

From the door Mary J. Blige has always been at the top of my list of: Artists that make life soundtracks. When she hit the seen in the early 90’s with What’s the 411, I knew then, that she would be around for a long time! Mary J. Blige makes meaningful songs that women can relate to. Her music resonates with my spirit!

Keyshia Cole is cut from the same royal artist fabric as Mary J. Blige. As I watch her career, listen to her music, and peek into her life via her reality show, I know that I’m looking at the next queen of hip hop soul! Keyshia Cole has all of the ingredients necessary… (more…)

Apple says Amy Winehouse Makes Top 10

Amy Winehouse makes her mark as a Top Artist on iTunes. Her album Back to Black has been one of the most downloaded albums this year on the Apple’s iTunes site.

It’s no wonder and no surprise why Winehouse is also nominated for six Grammy’s:

Back to BlackRecord of the Year
Album of the Year
Song of the Year
Best New Artist
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance
Best Pop Vocal Album

This has been a topsy turvy year for the songstress considering her own battles with rehabilitation and drunken high stupor performances leaving fans stunned and mad.

It would seem that her hit song Rehab is a national anthem of sorts for Hollywood starlets and celebs… rehabs have been the going thing for 2007!

Ironically the song Rehab happens to be nominated for the Grammy Song of the Year… While the song has an adamant message about rehab refusal it also seems like a serious cry for help. Perhaps the song and the artist will evoke deep reflection and/or inspire those ready to get help, those that refuse help, and those that deny that they need help.

My hope is that instead of saying No, No, No, to Rehab, that those in need will Go! Go! Go!Drug Rehabilitation Center Substance Abuse Treatment Programs Drug and Alcohol Rehab Services Treatment Recommendation Service 1-800-515-3277 For Help Now!

Congrats, Best Wishes, and Good Luck to Amy Winehouse.

Britney Spears Tells All

Everyone is in a frenzy searching for the Britney Spears meltdown interview with OK Magazine. Britney Spears candidly shared her inner most thoughts and feelings in a controlled relaxed setting in which she was able to freely let it all out and bare her soul. It was actually some time ago in a recording studio laid to a track…she changed the names for obvious reasons but anyway, here’s what she said in case you hadn’t heard:

Early morning, she wakes up
Knock, knock, knock on the door
It’s time for makeup, perfect smile
It’s you they’re all waiting for
They go…
“Isn’t she lovely, this Hollywood girl?”
And they say…

Britney SpearsShe’s so lucky, she’s a star
But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking
If there’s nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night

Lost in an image, in a dream
But there’s no one there to wake her up
And the world is spinning, and she keeps on winning
But tell me what happens when it stops?
They go…
“Isn’t she lovely, this Hollywood girl?”
And they say…

She’s so lucky, she’s a star
But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking
If there’s nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night

“Best actress, and the winner is…Lucky!”
“I’m Roger Johnson for Pop News standing outside the arena waiting for Lucky”
“Oh my god…here she comes!”

Isn’t she lucky, this Hollywood girl?
She is so lucky, but why does she cry?
If there’s nothing missing in her life
Why do tears come at night?

She’s so lucky, she’s a star
But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking
If there’s nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night

Britney Spears has been telling us for years that even though everyone thinks she has the perfect life it ain’t all good…somethings missing, she can’t be herself, and no one can or will help her.

I wonder how many young women feel the same way…

Analyze the lyrics it’s all there in black and white. Stop dissing Britney and send her some loving energy, a prayer, well wishes, or something other than negativity. Lets all hope for the best for her. Wouldn’t you want someone to do the same for you?

Beastie Boys Album review

Word is the Beastie Boys have a hot album here’s what Living Life Abundantly contributer Susan Cuevas has to say:

I’ll have a glass of pinot noir, and a side of Beasties please…

by Susan Cuevas, Indie Journalist: Album Critique Org

This is a creatively spontaneously crafted experimental instrumental album. The explicitness of the album title cannot possibly be more direct. Experimental, jazz, funk, trip-hop, lounge, avant garde. Yes, Beasties have accomplished AVANT GARDE status.

Not like Tom Waits, of course cause he is the MASTER, but they have joined the ranks of his pedestal, none the less.

The latin percussion and simplicity of the drums are incredibly clean and crisp. The keys…….. THANK YOU MONEY MARK!! Heavy lounge/funk organ is perfected for the mood, but not overwhelming. The 60’s/70’s funk, jazz bass influences inevitably present, but sensually smooth on the ear.

This is a height in their career, in this ‘journalist’ opinion. Punk, post-punk hip-hop, jazz, comedic relief, now this. EXPERIMENTAL INSTRUMENTATION. I’m teary eyed……. And I’m not kidding about it either.

You will not believe it is them when you listen to this. It might not make it to number one on the Billboard chart, or get five stars by Spin or Rolling Stone (Brenda), but this is an experimentally fun ‘good weed on a summer day’ album for them. Though they have touched on these genres before, they have never done it to such elaborate extent.

Coming from a hard core fan though, I might be a bit, just a bit bias to the greatness of this happy state of consciousness album though……LOL…….

Mike D told NME.com. “If you know us you can trace the influences and they’re not completely surprising. Someone who listens to us casually might think ‘What the hell are these guys doing?’”

They’ve seriously evolved into their wise age and musicianship. And like fine wine, the taste is exquisite, flawless and impeccably delightful.

That’s my review, and I’m stickin’ to it bitches!!!
