Ten years ago I received a piece of Bazooka Bubble Gum in the mail with a note from my student loan lender requesting payment saying “don’t blow it!” At the time I was extremely annoyed, but looking back, I see it was a creative tactic that left a lasting impression and really got my attention.
I struggled so long with those student loans, but I’m finally free. Now I have a sister in college, a brother soon to graduate from college, and another brother preparing to enter college next year.

Nearly all the college students who make it to their junior year successfully complete college.
And, a pretty high percentage of college students who complete their sophomore year return for their junior year.
Freshman year is the one that provides the biggest hurdle for most students. At some college, more than half the students who do not graduate leave between their first day on campus and what should be the first day of their sophomore year. To avoid being one of those “early leavers”, pledge to follow the five rules below.

Whether you are a traditional freshman, traditional transfer student, or non-traditional transfer student (one who is older than the average transfer student) making a fresh start, be sure to check out the advantages of being in the Honors Program at your university. If you’re like many students, getting into an Honors Program is far less important than simply getting through your first year at the university. But, getting into an Honors Program early can pay tremendous dividends. It’s a great way to meet new friends, gain access to additional resources, and maintain a positive perspective on your college education.

Time is the one thing we cannot get back, therefore we must spend our time wisely. While in college, time management is one of the biggest and most important lessons. This is what makes or breaks the transition from high school. There are no bells in college… No parents to get you up and off to class. In college you are responsible for your time.
To manage your time effectively get organized.
