Many times we forget that our attitude has a big part in directing how our days will turn out.
I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight.
I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or…
I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

This year I’ll be spending the day with both my mom and grandmother. I try to show my love and appreciation for them EVERY DAY not just on Mother’s Day. It is a blessing to have them in my life. Mom and Gram you are both so awesome!

When it comes to Christmas gifts many people prefer something store bought over something home made. Would you rather have that hot IPOD you’ve been eye balling all year or a sweater your sister spent months knitting?
Personally, I believe its the thought that counts. Nobody owes you anything. If someone uses their own resources to present you with a gift…no matter what the gift is…shouldn’t you appreciate the fact that they even thought of you?
A home made gift means the person took TIME to actually CREATE something with THEIR OWN HANDS especially for YOU.

I’m giving thanks all day and spending time with family.
Thanksgiving means different things to different people. For me, Thanksgiving is a day of deep reflection and a day to express appreciation to not just each other, but to God!
As humans most of us always want more, strive for more, and/or are never satisfied.
This year if you still have a job…BE THANKFUL!
This year if you still have your house…BE THANKFUL!
This year if you still have a refrigerator with food in it…Be Thankful!

I grew up with lots of Love, nurturing, support, and encouragement.

My mother has always taken pride in being a mother. Her maternal instincts are on point. My mother didn’t have it easy raising me or my sister, but she certainly made it seem easy.
My mother stepped up to the motherhood plate and a lot of the time she carried the fatherhood plate too.
You know that saying “when life throws you lemons make lemonade?”
My mom can turn lemons into the best lemonade you’ve ever had in your life!

Sometimes ambitions, goals, hopes, and plans get in the way of us being content with what we have and thankful for our many blessings. Thanksgiving is one of those traditions in which we often get caught up in the processes and rituals of observing the holiday… its not just about eating turkey, watching football games, and going shopping the next day.

Each year I become even more mindful of the fact that people really do come into our lives for a reason, season, or lifetime.
In evaluating my own relationships its very clear who my reasons, seasons, and lifetimes are and vice versa. As we approach Thanksgiving and like everyone else I suppose… I am deeply introspecting, reflecting, and meditating on everything and everyone that I am thankful for. God is Good! I’m very thankful to have crossed paths with such remarkable people throughout my life and I look forward to crossing paths with many more.
