Burning calories can be hard when you don’t have enough time to work up a sweat. Trimming your tummy doesn’t have to include hours at the gym or simply subsisting on lemons and maple syrup. Here is a list of what’s Hot and what’s Not when you need to trim your tummy.
1. Cardio
What’s Hot: Interval training is a guarantee when you want to trim your tummy. Instead of doing the usual jog around the block try some short sprints with speed walking in between. By always challenging your workout you are able to mix it up enough to lose the pregnancy weight.
What’s Not: Running an untiring and monotonous hour on the treadmill eventually becomes counter-productive because it is a habit. You can’t trim your tummy if your body is still in its comfort zone. Changing your cardio workout just once won’t cut it when you are sliming down – you have to always be mixing it up to keep your metabolism up to speed. If you are always introducing new moves and exercises, your body will be working ten times harder and you’ll burn the baby fat ten times faster.
2. You are what you Eat
What’s Hot: The classics never fade and that is the key when choosing your life long commitment to eating healthy. Moderation is the best basis for your diet to trim your tummy. You don’t have to cut out an essential food item like carbs or sugars out all together, just keep them in check. Make sure you don’t substitute real raw sugar for high fructose cornstarch or whole grain bread loafs for simulated white loafs.
What’s Not: Skipping meals doesn’t help when you need to trim your tummy. If you take a week just on broth, you are depriving your body of much needed nutrients. Starving yourself makes your metabolism “sluggish” and this will backfire on your dieting efforts when you start eating again becasue your body is still operating in starvation mode and will store the food. The end result will be that the pounds you lost will come back faster and then some.
We don’t have to re-invent the weightloss wheel and we don’t have to believe the diet hype and spend tons of cash on decadent exercise machines or diet plans. The ability to trim your tummy isn’t a new invention like these fad diets or exercise routines. We can take a history lesson from the women came before us who lived without the excesses and conveniences of our modern world – they ate less processed food and they had less sedentary lifestyles. So, live a healthy lifestyle by eating right and exercising regularly and save your money.

Trying to lose weight after giving birth can give you a headache especially when you’re trying to lose your tummy. Rules, diets, schedules, and a new baby can be a lot to handle but here are five simple stress releasing ways you can toss the extra pounds without losing your mind.
1. Yoga – This is a popular exercise for moms who are keen to lose the tummy and get toned and lean. Yoga comes in various traditions so find one that suites your tastes and sign up and get stretching. If you like saunas and don’t mind sweating, you should try a 90 minute session of Bikram Yoga to burn the baby fat and sweat out those toxins from your body. Or you can join a Yin Yoga class for deeper stretching and challenge your muscles with its longer duration of the poses. No time to leave the house? Then rent or buy a Yoga DVD and workout at home.
2. Kickboxing – When your workouts are getting tedious and boring, why not lose your tummy with some Kickboxing? It’s a great way to decompress and get a thorough total body workout. You can burn the baby fat and learn some self-defense and get a killer body from doing so.
3. Tea – A good alternative to cold colas and saucers of coffees would be a stress free cup of tea. Opt for green tea and you’ll get the weight loss benefits of rich anti-oxidants. Getting into Green Tea can give you another caffeine alternative to those other drinks, which could be high in calories and sugars.
4. Beef it up – Lean turkey and chicken is a safe bet when you are on a diet and trying to get your protein. But people often forget about the benefits of beef. Rich in zinc, iron and B vitamins, beef can reduce the mood swings and settle down the stress while giving your body the nutrients it needs. Portion sizing is the key to including beef in your diet successfully.
5. Laugh – To quote Mort Walker, “Seven days without laughter makes one weak.” and we all know how easy it is to self-sabotage our efforts to lose the tummy and how difficult it is to stay on course. Laughing puts more endorphins into our body and this gives a positive boost to your psyche. Go and be silly with your kids or have a night out with the girls. Find a way to have a good laugh, it can go a long way to give you the strength to keep on going.
Losing your tummy can be a long and unpleasant journey but only if you make it that way. Getting healthy and staying that way will require throwing out the old bad lifestyle habits to embrace new healthy ones and having fun along the way.

Exercise is the last thing on a new mom’s thoughts when she’s busy with her new born. Of course, some moms eventually start losing pregnancy weight natuarally from breastfeeding but many of us aren’t so lucky and end up either resorting to fad diets or living in procrastination and denial. Don’t get trapped into a unsuccessful cycle when trying to trim your tummy – use these top five do’s and don’ts to help you lose the baby fat.
1. Don’t obsess over your daily calories. Skipping meals or becoming too strict with yourself could lead to binging when hungry and purging to ease the guilt. Committing to eating healthy meals for losing pregnancy weight should be a gradual transition so it won’t sabotage your efforts by being a shock to your system and psyche. Choose natural foods and healthy low-calorie receipes and snacks that cater to your tastes.
2. Do snacking the right way. Snacking is a good habit. However, snacking the right way requires that you need to change the type of foods that you are snacking on from high fat, salt and or sugar snacks to healthier ones. If you have the occassional chocolate bar, you don’t have to beat yourself up as long as you don’t let it undermine your efforts at losing the pregnancy weight. Having a granola bar is better then a chocolate bar and saying no to whip cream on your latte will cut down on un-needed calories.
3. Don’t forget to stretch. Getting your body back to normal after having a baby can be hard. Your hips could hurt or your arms are tired. Stretching helps when losing pregnancy weight because it helps build and repair the muscles. Yoga at home or just a series of simple stretches at work will help you keep relaxed.
4. Do include some resistance training in your routine. Sometimes it’s hard to give up the comfortable jog you’re used to and throw in some ball crunches or rubber resistance-band bicep curls. Resistance training is a strong ally to losing pregnancy weight fast because it strengthens the muscles and this makes the body burn more fat.
5. Don’t avoid getting some shuteye. It can be hard to hit the sack when you have a little one but make sure you get a naptime too! Losing pregnancy weight can be hard when you are exhausted. Your muscles, metabolism and nerves need a rest and so get some rest while you can.
Being healthy can make you feel and look better. A happy mom makes a happy home and a healthy mom results in a healthy family. Losing pregnancy weight with these five do’s and don’ts will keep you focused and remind you that you have to make this process fun to make it successful!

Losing the pregnancy weight can be hard especially when there are so many diet schemes out there. Sometimes stereotypes make the most sense such as: size does matter or quality over quantity! These two stereotypes are famous but that’s because they are effective when you’re trying to trim your tummy!
Size does count:
When sitting down to family dinners try and make sure you watch your portion sizing. In North America people often overload their plates with too much food and even go for seconds. With fast food places super sizing even their small sizes and introducing larger portion meals, it’s hard to eat light. It can be even harder to lose your tummy when you can eat around the clock with late night take-out windows and 24 hour dining.
With portion sizing you can control and balance your caloric intake. In this way you will see if you are missing your protein or eating too many greens. Portion sizing helps you to eat what you want but in moderation. You can have some carbs and a serving of sugar like toast and honey as long as you balance it.
Faster is better:
You can shorten your workout sessions by doing quality fat burning exercises. Lose your tummy by speeding up your strides during your cardio. High intensity interval training will boost your metabolism and improve your endurance. Challenge yourself with quick sprints spread throughout your jogs.
The classic pyramid method is one of the easiest to get that quality workout experience. Starting out with a simple walk then a light jog switching to a speedy sprint and back down again will get you where you need to be in losing the pregnancy weight.
It might be hard to choose an exercise routine when there are so many tips out there. These stereotypes have been around for a long time but when applied to losing the pregnancy weight they fit. Lose your tummy fast by keeping these mottos in mind and above all have fun!
