Natural Treatments For High Blood Pressure Are Available

It is estimated by the American Heart Association that one in every three adult Americans suffer from high blood pressure. However, a large majority of these Americans are not aware that they are ill. Common symptoms of high blood pressure like headaches can also seem relatively minor and are largely dismissed as mere annoyances. If you have a family history of high blood pressure, it is good to know that natural treatment for high blood pressure is available that you can start right now to prevent high blood pressure.

Recent studies have shown that Coenzyme Q10 has the ability to reduce both systolic and diastolic pressure. CoQ10 is produced naturally in the body. It is a key factor in the production of energy in the mitochondria. A fat-soluble substance, CoQ10 should only be used in conjunction with other approved treatments and under the supervision of a physician.

Garlic naturally thins the blood. It improves circulation and lessens the symptoms of high blood pressure. Due to its blood thinning properties, garlic should be used carefully. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before increasing garlic intake to prevent any medication interaction. Hawthorn is an herb supplement. It improves circulation by dilating the arteries. Studies have shown that hawthorn mildly reduces both the diastolic and systolic pressures.

Fish oil contains DHA (docohexaenoic acid). This ingredient has been found to be a part of a healthy cardiovascular system. Not yet approved by the FDA, fish oil should be used with caution. Folic acid, otherwise known as Vitamin B9, has been found to control the homocysteine levels in those diagnosed with from hypertension. As a water-soluble substance, our bodies can not store folic acid. A constant supply of folic acid is needed to provide the correct amount for heart health.

Calcium, magnesium and potassium are three other popular minerals that offer natural treatment for high blood pressure. Calcium appears to have a mild affect, but more research is needed. Magnesium, during 12 trials, has been found to reduce diastolic pressure, but has no effect on systolic pressure. Potassium supplementation has undergone five trials. These trials have shown a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure.

Diet plays a huge role in controlling high blood pressure. All of the healthy supplements can be found naturally within certain foods. However, the NIH have developed two nutritional plans as dietary approaches to stop hypertension. These diets are known as DASH and DASH sodium. The second version lessens sodium intake by 1500 mg per day.

Several natural remedies can also be used to reduce and prevent high blood pressure. These remedies include exercise, breathing techniques, biofeedback and non-traditional medicinal techniques from the Far East. All natural treatments for high blood pressure should be monitored by a physician.

If you look for natural diabetes treatment you will normally find that it also helps with hypertension.

Are You Windy Enough To Power Your Own House?

Wind can be an awesome force of nature, just ask anyone who has been in a tornado or powerful hurricane. We can harness this wind for the use of generating electricity for our world. When the sun shines it heats the earth, but since the earth is made of different materials and is of differing heights and valleys it heats unevenly, especially over land and water.

During the day the land obviously heats faster than in the evening, because the sun is out. The water also heats up, but not as fast. Water also cools slower then land so at night the wind reverses course. When the heat rises, the cool air comes in to fill in where the heat is not, and this is when the wind is created.

Today as we look for new ways to power the earth, it is a natural thing to look at wind power. It has been used for many years to power simple machines of the past. Wind is another type of solar energy, which makes it a renewable energy source. In years past we used windmills, the wind machines of today are called turbines.

Much like the old fashioned windmills, the wind machines we use today use blades to collect the wind’s energy. Windmills work because they harness the power of the wind to generate electricity. Even the new wind machines must have wind to work, so when the wind isn’t blowing other types of power have to be used, like solar panel energy.

There are two types of turbines used today they are based on the direction of the rotating shaft for example; horizontal axis wind machines, and vertical axis wind machines. Sizes of wind machines can vary widely. There are smaller turbines used to power a home or small business, and they may have a capacity of less than 100 kilowatts. Larger commercial sized turbines may have a capacity of 5 million watts, or even as high as 5 megawatts. The large turbines are often found in wind farms that provide power to an electrical grid.

The blades on turbines typically are about 200 feet across, but can be as wide as a football field. These blades are made much like an airplane propeller, and can be made of fiberglass, or a lightweight metal or plastic. The towers or bases have to be wide and tall in order to efficiently harness the wind. This is a great power source for the world of today.

One major drawback of electric wind power is that the windmills used to generate power are massive and make a lot of noise. It can be used in remote places of the countryside as space and higher terrain is needed for it. Due to this reason it has a limited scope of use and not practical to install in densely populated areas.

Is wind power the solution for you to be power self sufficient? Some parts of the country have sufficient reliable wind to generate sufficient electricity to serve everyones requirements.

Would You Like To Use Wind To Power Your House?

In a time when energy dependency on foreign countries is straining domestic politics around the world, many countries are looking to offshore wind farms as a possibility. Great Britain and the United States are just two of those countries investing money and time into researching the option of using wind generated power to supplement their countries’ power consumption.

Wind farms are housed both onshore and offshore. Off shore wind farms are a relatively new occurrence with the largest being off the coast of Scotland. The turbines are placed in rows along the ocean floor in shallow waters close to shore. California’s central valley has been home to wind farms for almost 30 years. The wind generated in the central valley is fed into the public energy grid. Because wind is an intermittent energy source it is often used as an energy supplement.

The United Kingdom has taken steps to map a future powered by off shore wind farms. The shelved sea floor off the coast of Great Britain is ideal for the placement of turbines. Massive off shore wind farms have not been built in the U.S. yet. However, the topography of the ocean floor surrounding the United States might be a limiting factor. Gigantic underwater canyons and steep drops will be keeping wind farms off of the U.S. pacific coast.

Offshore wind farms are attractive mainly because of the weather conditions produced by the ocean. Strong winds are regularly experienced, larger turbines can be installed and so more energy can be produced. On shore wind farms are also attractive for midland states like Montana and Kentucky where winds howl off the plains.

The cost of turbines seems to be a sticking point for those selling the technology. Although the turbines pay themselves off faster than any other source of energy infrastructure, there is still apprehension at investing such a large sum in a still developing technology. Even without complete support, wind power has a yearly production of more than 100 billion kilowatt hours worldwide.

Interest in wind power is global. Denmark, Australia, India and even Morocco already have wind farms generating portions of their countries power. Many experts in alternative fuels believe that wind power will be an excellent option for fostering independence in developing nations.

The world is finally seeing major movement with alternative energy solutions with new U.S. President Obama. More money is going to be allocated to funding alternative energy projects and many jobs will be created. Wind energy will generate almost 5 jobs for every 1 mega watt of energy installed through wind farms.

Is wind electricity the way for everyone to be electricity self sufficient? Many parts of the country have enough reliable wind to generate enough electricity to serve everyones needs.

The sea floor off the coast of the United Kingdom is ideal for its shallow depth. In the United States the most ideal spot for a massive wind farm would be off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts where there is a gradual slope of the ocean floor. The pacific coast of the United States would be a much costlier location due to the steep drop off and canyons in the ocean floor.

Off shore wind power generation is more consistent than onshore wind turbines because winds at sea are more consistent, stronger, and the turbines can be much larger. However, offshore wind generated power is only one piece of the wind power puzzle. Benefits of onshore power farms are sources of income for landowners, tax benefits, and job creation.

Denmark has led the way in wind generated power and encouraged participation from countries like the U.S. and the U.K. There is great hope that wind generated power can create energy independence for developing nations Like Africa and Nicaragua.

Wind generated power projects are generally funded by governments and non governmental organizations world wide. Employment outlooks for this sector are increasing especially with the U.S. President Obama committing more funding to the industries of alternative energy production. The American Wind Energy Associate estimates that 4.8 jobs will be created for every 1 mega watt of wind power installed.

Wind generated power is viable for you now!

In a time when energy dependency on foreign countries is straining domestic politics around the world, many countries are looking to offshore wind farms as a possibility. Great Britain and the United States are just two of those countries investing money and time into researching the option of using wind generated power to supplement their countries’ power consumption.

Offshore wind farms are literally farms of large wind turbines lined in rows much like an agricultural fruit or nut farm. The turbines are placed in relatively shallow water close to shore to minimize costs and allow a connection with land power lines to deliver the energy. Onshore wind generating power farms already populate rural plains in the United States. California has had wind farms for over 30 years. The power generated by wind is an addition to other sources of power. Because wind on land is intermittent it is not ideal for complete power production.

Great Britain plans to have the country powered by wind energy by 2020. This would be possible in major part to the topography of the ocean floor surrounding Great Britain. The floor is shelved and shallow making the cost of installing turbines manageable. The ideal spot for an offshore wind farm in the United States would be Cape Cod. The pacific coast of the United States is steep and treacherous making onshore wind farms a better option.

Are you windy enough to power your own house?

Wind is the affect of air in motion. Wind is caused when the sun shines and heats up the earth’s surface unevenly. Because the earth’s environment is made of different materials such as land and water, as well as the things that make up these surfaces like wood, metal, and glass, they absorb the sun’s heat many different rates.

Daytime is when the air above the land heats up more quickly, and it heats the air over water more slowly. Warm air that is above the land expands and rises, and cooler air quickly comes in to fill the gaps, and this creates wind. In the evening, the winds reverse, because air cools more quickly over land than over water. This is why you have the differing temperatures of land near bodies of water.

Nowadays, we use the wind to create energy to produce electricity for homes, businesses or communities. Wind is an earth friendly renewable energy source; we know that as long as the sun shines on the earth the winds will continue to blow.

The turbines used today are based on the direction of the rotating shaft for example; one type is a horizontal axis wind machine, and the other is a vertical axis wind machine. Wind machines (turbines) come in different sizes depending on the amount of electricity that they need to generate. There are small turbines used for homes and businesses, and they will have a capacity of less than 100 kilowatts. The larger sized turbines have a capacity of 5 million watts, or even as high as 5 megawatts these are used for commercial purposes. The large turbines can be used to make up wind farms that provide power to a large electrical grid.

Critics of electric wind power point out that the windmills which are essential to power generation are extremely large and make a lot of noise. Ordinarily, they can only be used in rural areas, where the open spaces and elevated terrain essential for their use can be found. Because of these limitations, they are not usually practical for more densely populated areas.
