  7. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
  8. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
  9. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
  10. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit presence of trouble.

  1. That's a great list. I will try the following experiment. I print out the list, I read it twice a day and I commit to apply one or several of the points throughout the day. Let's see, how this will change my life over the next 6 months.

  4. Hi Marenda, I'm liking this list very much, especially "forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future." Forgetting past mistakes is a tricky one but it seems to get easier as you get older, as long as your not making new ones!

  5. Optimistic people are loved by others because they bring a whole new different light to what may seem to others as hopeless situations. Positive thinkers experience less stress, makes more friends, and have a bright future ahead of them! Enlightening post indeed!
