If you are a network marketer, an entrepreneur, or business owner you want to tap into the awesome power of Youtube by making your own videos. The process may seem intimidating at first but this quick step by step article will show you just how easy it is to create and upload videos in minutes.
Step #1
In order to make a video you need something to record your video. This can be a web camera, a cellphone, a Flip, a camcorder or any type of device that can record and transfer to your computer. I personally use a Flip and the web camera built into my Macbook. Both are easy to use (even for a computer novice).
Step #2
Before you start recording think about the subject of your video and the points you want to make. If you feel more comfortable with writing out a script and rehearsing that is fine. However, the more natural you are the more genuine you’ll come off. Unless you are a trained actor or broadcaster people will see right through you reading or reciting a script. Be yourself! This is really important because you need to establish credibility. If you come off salesy or like a phony, your videos won’t get many views.
Step #3
Location. Location. Location. Choose a well lit location and try not to have too many distractions in the background.. The lighting will affect the quality of your video so double check to make sure your lighting is adequate. You want your viewers to focus on you and what you are saying or doing, not what might be going on behind you. Choose a nice quiet area where there isn’t any unnecessary distracting activity going on.
Step #4
Record your video and make it under 10 minutes, the shorter oftentimes the better. The reason behind this is because Youtube limits the length of videos to just 10 minutes. In addition to that, it’s good to keep your videos short because people have very short attention spans. Don’t try to cover everything in one video, make a series of videos if necessary. Part One, Part Two, Part three and so on is acceptable. When you are done recording to your satisfaction use a video editing software like IMovie (for Mac users) or Windows Movie Maker. This will allow you to cut parts out or add parts including your website address and notations. This may take you a few minutes to figure out but once you get the hang of it you will be producing lots of videos in no time. Practice makes perfect.
Step #5
Create a free Youtube account if you haven’t done so already. Upload your video. Use a descriptive title with your main keywords. Before adding a summary of your video in the description box be sure to put the url to your website first.
So how do you make videos without a camera? If you are doing tutorials or using powerpoint you can use screen capture software like Camtasia (SnapProz for Mac users) which records what’s happening on your computer. If you want to do photo montages with sub titles you can use Animoto or OneTrueMedia.
One other suggestion, don’t limit yourself to just Youtube, there are numerous video sharing sites…
Now start making some videos!
