“Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud, and one sees the stars.”- Frederick Langbridge, A Cluster of Quiet Thoughts
If you come in second place in a contest, would you be happy and try to do better the next time or would you be devastated and not participate in the contest again?
In life, we are presented with choices. You may choose to be pessimistic and live a self-defeated life or you may choose to be optimistic and live life abundantly.

Why be an optimist?
Optimism leads to having a positive attitude, good morale, success, optimal health and even long life.
On the flip side, pessimism leads to depression and general unhappiness.
Optimists always expect the best in all situations.
The pessimist believes and expects the absolute worst…And because of their beliefs they create a chain of bad events over and over again.
Everyone experiences some hard knocks in life, even the super optimist. However, the person with the positive outlook on life sees misfortune as a temporary setback or an opportunity to learn and grow.
You will never hear them say “things will never get better,” “If I failed once, it will happen again” and “If I experience misfortune in one part of my life, then it will happen in my whole life.” Those are the words (curses) of the negative and pessimistic person. If you ever find yourself speaking like this stop immediately. You must change how you think as well as what you say. The power of your words are just as powerful as your thoughts!
Positive people are like magnets. People are drawn to them. Nobody wants to be around a sour puss! Optimism is contagious and influences people positively.
If you consistently hope for the best, expect the best, and believe the best…you will find it much easier to get through any situation.
There has even been medical research that suggests a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body’s ability to fight disease and heal.
Is it possible to THINK your way towards a more fulfilling life?
The answer is YES and it begins with changing your thinking.
Be Optimistic!

Very true what you say here. From my experience in life, and I'm not an expert, but being positive-minded is always better. I've been through rough times and being pessimistic didn't help at all. Plus if I always worried it made things worst. It is like a blackhole that pulls you down and sucks you in. Its hard to get out of despair and being negative.
I like your thought here. I agree that being optimistic would change your outlook in life. You should enjoy life and keep this positive energy with you.
This article is of the kind of positive thinking – it is encouraging and very optimistic! I try to implement some of the principles of positive thinking in my life but my success in this sphere is not so big – it is very difficult to start thinking in other way.
I second to that and very well said – Optimism leads to having positive attitude, good morale, success, optimal health, and even long life. People who are optimistic have good disposition in life and always look at the brighter side of everything and make their optimism come true. So therefore, they are able to live an abundant life.
I believe that we should think positive to live life fully. Negative thoughts almost always hinder one's plans. So, think positive!

Being optimistic is a basic thing in our life, if we want to be successful in all the fields of the life. It's true, it is hard, but with practice, now I'm glad for every little thing, I find motivation to go on and I think this is a key to a happy life!
I agree with you!!! when you are pessimistic you are even unable to find the opportunity that are just nearer to you…..
a pessisimist is so scared that he build walls around himself, being content to stay safe than to take risks; an optimist takes whatever life has to offer & deal w/ it in a constructive & positive way. just like the saying, "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going."

Yes, I truly agree that positive people are like magnets. It's true that when you radiate positive attitude to almost everything you do, it will reflect on you and people will notice that. And people like that. Whether in your place of work, in the grocery, in the church, at a party or where ever you maybe.
