Debunking The Top 4 Myths Of Weight Loss

Sun, 20th September, 2009 - Posted by Lelondez McQuiston

Many find losing weight very difficult simply because there is a lot of misleading information out there. You read one resource about weight loss and then read another one that completely contradicts the first one you read.

All this misleading information does nothing more than create misconceptions that end up making the entire situation very confusing. In order to clear things up, let’s cut through all the unneeded and unwanted myths, so that you can start to lose weight in the best possible way.

1. Weight Loss Has to be Complicated

Unlike the popular belief that most people have, there is nothing about losing weight that needs to be complicated. In fact, the only reason people think weight loss is complicated is because of the misinformation that makes it look that way.

Some of the most effective weight loss programs are those that are simple. All the unneeded extras and frill do nothing more than complicate things and provide no real benefits.

2. Crash Diets Are the Only Way to Lose Weight Quickly

The next thing we are going to talk about is those crash or fad diets that we’ve all heard about and probably tried. There are all kinds of diets that pop up that are usually a spin off from a previous diet with a few extra things added to make it unique.

Almost all of these diets never work, and if they do, their results are temporary and reversible and any weight that you lose will end up coming back very quickly with a vengeance.

3. All Kinds of Fat is Bad For You

It is true that fat is high in calories, and some kinds of fat are likely to be stored on the body as fat. However, this doesn’t mean you have to stay away from fat entirely. Some fats will help you feel full quickly, which will help you avoid overeating.

However, avoid eating certain types of fat such as trans fats which are really bad for you. And so, avoiding all fat is not necessary.

4. To Diet You Need to Measure Every Calorie Consumed and Burnt

Again, this is completely false. Dieting does concern about cutting calories, but you do not need to be precise and count every calorie you eat or burn for that matter.

As long as you eat a healthy, balanced, and wholesome diet while keeping your calorie count as low as possible, you’ll do just fine.

Now that you understand everything about these four myths you will be able to clearly see that losing weight is not complicated. You don’t need a difficult diet plan or expensive diet pills. You simply need some knowledge and some will power to stick with a simple program to the end. You will find yourself losing weight like never before.

A stepper machine is an easy to use, low impact exercise machine. It is also an aerobic exerciser in that it raises your heart rate and causes you to breathe harder while making you break out in a sweat. Don’t cringe, these are good things, especially when you are overweight and need to do something about it. In other words, it burns calories and it burns them fast! Also try the fat burning Furnace.

Nice Tips. I especially like that you mentioned people do not habe to measure every calorie consumed and burnt. Dieters in general get to hung up on measuring and monitoring and do not focus on what is really important.

If you think you can lose weight and keep it off by avoiding all fats, you’re sadly mistaken. In fact, if you think that low fat eating is the only way to go, you might as well just quit now. Your body and your brain needs fat to survive.so eat healthy and follow the diet plan which makes you fit.

Most people are focused on the fact that carrying excess weight is bad for them and they don't look into how bad diets can be for you too! Diets rarely focus on making sure you're getting the right nutrients for a healthy body and mind. You can loose weight and feel amazing while you do it but making sure you're eating the right, healthy foods. I lost weight when I decided to sort my health out through eating a high raw food diet. Not only did I loose the weight, my mind was clearer, my emotions were more balanced and my skin glowed. So much of why we gain the weight in the first place is to do with feeling bad in ourselves – low self esteem, depression, illness – and most diets don't address the underlying reasons why we're overweight in the first place. You're so right about all the misleading information out there. We should look to our emotional and physical health first, then the weight starts to fall away naturally.

Portion control is a huge factor that people neglect. I have seen people switch over to diet foods but being that the diet foods have half the calories, they will consume a total of more foods. You must remember portion control is very important.
