Despite all the technology we have at our fingertips, it appears that people are busier than ever.

And, our crammed full schedlues are one of the chief reasons that many of us neglect our health. What should be a high priority sometimes get pushed to the bottom of the pile. But, we can change that.

Even busy folks can actively maintain and improve their health. And it does not take a lot of time or great discipline.

Here are seven examples.

1. Set reasonable fitness and weight goals. If your goals are unrealistic, you’ll get discouraged and return to old habits.

2. Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Break your exercise time into two fifteen minute segments if you do not have a 30 minute block available. Your lunch hour is a great time to walk, as is early morning.

3. Have something to eat every four hours. Snacks will keep your metabolism up and keep you from eating too heavily at meals.

4. Take a good multivitamin every day.

5. If losing weight is a goal, understand that even a modest reduction in calories (100 daily) can help you drop 10 pounds in a year.

6. Raise your good cholesterol by eating fish or taking one of the many available Omega 3 supplements.

7. Be sure to get a full night’s sleep; you’ll have more energy, your resistance will be higher, and you may well feel less stress.

None of these things will prepare you for the Olympics or guarantee that you’ll live 100 years, but all will improve your health significantly, and none are difficult or time consuming.
