The energy crisis is becoming big news. In fact, everyone seems to agree that global warming actually exists. We’ve come to a point where it’s too late to lay blame or figure out who made the biggest mistakes. At this point it is time to begin finding alternative sources of energy to power our homes and our country. We need to find energy sources that are clean burning and do not add to the problems we are already experiencing.
It’s true technological advances have made life much easier. Unfortunately with all these advances alternative energy sources have been put to the wayside. Considering the fact all the fossil fuels burned to fuel the new technology have in part, led to the environmental crisis we are now facing, it’s time to start looking at some other alternatives. It’s time to look at what you can do to help.
If you want to get started helping the environment it’s important to know what options are available and what alternative energy might be right for you to use. There are a wide range of alternative energies, including sun, wind, water, and even the heat of the earth itself.
Look underneath. Did you know that the heat coming from the ground can also be turned into energy resources? There are holes that are being drilled in certain regions to find steam that are being produced by the heat underneath. The steam is purified to be used as power to electric generators.
Residential wind power is a great source of energy for homes. You can purchase a wind turbine or you can even make one yourself. It’s not as difficult as you might think. There are guides available that will show you how to make a wind turbine of professional grade.
Water is a powerful source of energy. Anyone who’s been caught in a riptide or had a wave crash over them can attest to this. Using water for energy takes a little more effort, as you have to have plenty of moving water, and you have to have a way to harness it. This can be a great source of energy on a community level.
Now is the time to start taking advantage of green energy sources. These are renewable and do not pollute the air. The sources of these types of energy will never run out and in using these types of energy we can hopefully undo some of the damage that has already been done.
There are methods and studies being conducted by experts worldwide to find ways on how to improve on the utilization of these available sources of energy. People must learn to slowly detach themselves on being too dependent on the use of energy sources that are non-renewable. In a matter of years, the latter will decrease until they slowly diminish. Are you going to wait for that time to come when all along, if you will only look around, you will discover how nature provided for everything that you need. All you have to do is to find ways on how to use them wisely.
You can do your share of caring for these available alternative energy sources by being a good citizen who cares for your environment. You can start in your own simple ways like not adding up to the pollution, planting plants and trees and supporting products that do not contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment.

I think we are still little far away from that day when there would be no smoke being emitted from our vehicles. if only there were better solar cells. things would have been in place
I think living off the grid would be a great thing. Right now I have seen many stories where with a few solar panels and a mini wind turbine people are living off the grid. I think it can be done if people are willing to make an investment and also aren't energy hogs with many electronics.
Very few people can afford to convert to renewable energy sources. Until the make it affordable. I can't see many folks living off the grid. They have incentives to go green but who can pay the initial investment to see the advantages later?
