It is good that you promote the collection of gold coins as investments. I am more interested in paper currency collecting, but the principles are similar.
@Phil — With our current economy I would have to disagree. Imagine if our paper currency suddenly became worthless? Having real metals and gold would be a much safer bet!

Gold Coins are good investment for many reasons like converting it to cash, physical low maintenance, no pay for keeping it and have only low risk compare to other investments.
