5 US Senators Accused of Corruption: John McCain and the Keating 5

Tue, 7th October, 2008 - Posted by M Taylor

“Senator McCain had the closest personal friendship with Charles Keating. Their friendship predated Senator McCain’s political career. Senator McCain also was the only one who received personal as well political benefits from Charles Keating.” — Robert Bennett, the Special Counsel for the Senate Ethics Committee at the 1990 hearings

“I was judged eventually, after three years, of using, quote, poor judgment, and I agree with that assessment.” — John McCain

“Keating Economics: the Making of a Financial Crisis” is a documentary that shows why John McCain’s failed philosophy and poor judgment are a recipe for deepening the economic crisis. Watch it now:

The last thing we need is more of John McCain’s poor judgments!

I hope Obama starts bringing up this issue. John McCain claims to be against corruption and for reform but really this shows his true colors. Obama is the only chance America has to end the corruption in Washington.

Hmm… interesting news. Didn’t see or follow it on TV though… Is it Obama’s tricks?

It’s really unfortunate that amidst financial market/credit woes, unemployment etc, the US is going through this kind of issues as well…

This has not been US’s year anyway…

Cheers,
Ajith

Hi Marenda,

Thanks for posting this very important information. I hope more people see this. Especially since he wants to call Obama’s character into question.

So much on both sides…..this article, Biden’s debt….it all makes me wonder if we can trust ANY of them. Depressing.

I actually agree. A lifetime republican – I did not vote for McCain in the primary. But he is the better worse man.

Either way, you really have to scrape to the bottom of the barrel to use that McCain when so much is there on Obama (Rev Wright, William Ayers, Drug use, etc)

Interesting post. Well, this is not surprising anymore! Corruption is everywhere :)

Obama has choregraphed a masterful plan for the bloodless coup of this country. I hesitate to use the word bloodless though, as I fear that no matter who wins, we face uncertain and possibly a violent future, right here in America. It may the outside radicals. It could very well be the inside radicals. I am very distraught with the condition that we find the country I love so very much. However, I do find solace in the fact that there is someone of much higher authority in charge. Not even Obama can sweet talk Him into believing his lies.

Oops Mccain wont like that :(

Porch Lifts October 14, 2008

I don’t think this has got enough coverage as it deserves, especially when you take into account all of the misrepresentations or outright lies that are used against Obama.

Victor P October 14, 2008

Politics is just sickening me this go round. I really feel like Obama may be the answer we need.

Ahh it’s all a game at the end of the day I guess, such is the world of politics.

PMB October 15, 2008

My head is just spinning with all these misrepresentations that are being tossed about.

America is a sad country indeed when someone involved in a scandel costing billions of tax payer dollars is not only reelected, but is now running for president. Lets also not forget who wrote the campaign finance reform bill in the 90s and we can all tell how good that worked. I think we can all agree corporations control America.

Myron Tay October 16, 2008

It astounds me that this is the best candidate the republicans can come up with after Bush.

Roger Hamilton October 17, 2008

I wonder what the result will be..

Baseball Uniforms October 17, 2008

I agree. It would be a detriment to our society if McLame were elected. Hopefully the lead Obama has will stay like that.

King Richards October 17, 2008

Don Tracer October 24, 2008

The only thing we know for sure is that John McCain spent 5 1/2 years in the Hanoi Hilton being tortured. The man is a hero.

Debi October 25, 2008

I guess Obama will be a good leader.

Steve February 14, 2009

I never knew anything about this, I never would have associated John McCain with political corruption, I guess I must have been blinded by all that war hero stuff.
