This is a great post. I just wanted to add that MBA internships are a great way to help you identify the functional area and/or industry in which you want to work.
As a recent first-year MBA student who was very thorough in my pursuit of any and all opportunities for an MBA summer internship, I quickly discovered how overwhelming the internship search can be when conducting a search in general, but more importantly, when conducting a search online. While there are many job sites and career search engines available, none of them truly focus on the large and consistent target market of internship-seeking MBA students that emerge each and every year. This can be seen in the fact that when an MBA student searches for “mba internships” on popular sites, such as Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com or Indeed.com, he or she must filter through many undesirable search results, including undergraduate internships, MBA full-time positions as well as mass-market job advertisements.
