I believe in miracles. Miracles happen around us every day. The living life abundantly lifestyle is about acknowledging, believing in, and even expecting miracles.
What is a miracle?
According to the dictionary, a miracle is: An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God.
I know a woman that was diagnosed with cancer. She was on the phone with someone while they were praying for her. While on the phone she began coughing and she coughed up some blood during the prayer. When she went back to the doctor no trace of cancer could be found. True story! Doctors couldn’t explain it. This was many years ago, this woman is healthy and strong and has never had any other problems. That is a miracle!
Years ago, my dad was getting on the freeway, my grandfather was in the back seat sound asleep. While driving up the on ramp, my dad went into an epileptic seizure causing him to floor the gas pedal. My grandfather woke up, hopped over the seat and miraculously was able to gain control of the car and get him and my dad to safety. Nobody was hurt. That is a miracle!
Miracles are real. We can all look back on our lives and the lives of others and point out instances of miracles. In acknowledging that miracles are possible and that they indeed occur, why shouldn’t we expect or hope for miracles even in the most dismal of circumstances?
I have heard people say, “there’s no hope.” I have seen people give up hope. It saddens me. Why? Because what you believe is what you will receive. What you say is what you will have. These are universal Spiritual principles that work whether you believe in them or not.
Tess Buys a Miracle
Tess was a precocious eight year old when she heard her Mom and Dad talking about her little brother, Andrew. All she knew was that he was very sick and they were completely out of money. They were moving to an apartment complex next month because Daddy didn’t have the money for the doctor’s bills and our house. Only a very costly surgery could save him now and it was looking like there was no-one to loan them the money. She heard Daddy say to her tearful Mother with whispered desperation, “Only a miracle can save him now.”
Tess went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet. She poured all the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. Three times, even. The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes. Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall’s Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door. She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention but he was too busy at this moment. Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing. She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it! “And what do you want?” the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. “I’m talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven’t seen in ages”, he said without waiting for a reply to his question. “Well, I want to talk to you about my brother,” Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. “He’s really, really sick… and I want to buy a miracle.” “I beg your pardon?” said the pharmacist. “His name is Andrew and he has something bad growing inside his head and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?” “We don’t sell miracles here, little girl. “I’m sorry but I can’t help you”, the pharmacist said, softening a little. “Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn’t enough, I will get the rest. Just tell me how much it costs.”
The pharmacist’s brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, “What kind of a miracle does you brother need?” “I don’t know,” Tess replied with her eyes welling up. “I just know he’s really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can’t pay for it, so I want to use my money”.
“How much do you have?” asked the man from Chicago.
“One dollar and eleven cents”, Tess answered barely audibly. “And it’s all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to.
“Well, what a coincidence,” smiled the man. “A dollar and eleven cents–the exact price of a miracle for little brothers.” He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her mitten and said “Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meet your parents. Let’s see if I have the kind of miracle you need.” That well dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing in neuro-surgery. The operation was completed without charge and it wasn’t long until Andrew was home again and doing well.
Mom and Dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place. “That surgery”, her Mom whispered. “was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost?” Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost… one dollar and eleven cents …… plus the faith of a little child.
A miracle is not ALWAYS the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law……
~Author Unknown But It’s Said That This Is A True Story~

Oh I do believe in miracles, but I try not to hoping for miracles too much as it may led me into despair and sometimes ppl hoping for miracles while jz sitting around doing nothing. It’s glad to know tht miracles happened around ppl and hope tht others vl not give up easily on things and pray for miracles…
Miracles are simply a nonsense. Remarkable occurrences do take place but nothing can overcome the natural laws of physics etc.
I love this website. so inspirational. And I love the new look as well! Thanks for always brightening my day!
I love this article, its really good. Although I do not believe in miracles, but I do believe in fate..
Ha! I keep singing the song after reading the title…do you believe in miracelesss?? haha.
Anyway, some pretty amazing things happen, so that seems to point to the existence of miracles
I totally believe in miracles. They happen a lot when we cross over day to day live. When sometimes I also feel that a miracle had happened but later I think that it might be a coincident.
God works in mysterious ways thats why your grandfather was in the back seat. Thanks for the inspirational site im going to add it to my bookmarks
Miracles are the wonder of god which makes us believe that there is a power which is taking care of us. The power is called god. Miracles are the things which are beyond human imagination and are not understandable by humans.
I believe in miracles too and Miracles happen around us every day.If we able to careful about them, then we will see them.
I definately believe in miracles, I have one close to heart that I wont talk about. The story of the woman with cancer is truely amazing, fascinating to say the least.
sorry don’t believe in miracles. A lot of these miracle “stories” are just anecdotes that are not confirmed. nice stories but not a miracle. And if miracles did exist than that would leave us to conclude that curses also exist. Something to think about for your readers.
Miracles is something is that I think that is very subjective and is something that I have thought a lot about.
I have heard of many miracles and sometimes I feel that they can be true and some times I think it is a hoax.
In the end I have to say that I believe in miracles not because anything has happened to me but because I think there is a force out there…. There is something that governs things in this earth.
I believe in miracles, but not those stuff you see in movies. Miracles like helping another person or having a friend offer his hand.
I do.. and I don't.. I think.. in the end.. what happens is because it has to happen… so how can it be a miracle…?
I wasn't sure that I believed in miracles until I handed my daughter over to 2 nurses at Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok 2 years ago for open-heart surgery. She had a severe case of Atrial Septum Defect. It's a miracle that a surgeon was able to cut her chest open (while her heart and lungs continued on machines for 45 long minutes) and repair 2 holes near the heart values as well as repair cleft valves. She's alive today and healthy. That's a miracle! http://www.mylittlegirl.name
Thanks Marenda!
I seems different miracles at different time, but no miracle have affected me to marry with some good girl! ?
Great stuff. Miracles happen all the time.
Miracles are just crazy coincidences!
