Like most airports arriving at Edinburgh can be a stressful time if you are note sure what awaits you when you arrive.

There is noting worse than that stressful feeling of where to go and what to do to get into Edinburgh city centre or to your accommodation. When you first disembark the aircraft you will need to make your way to passport control, baggage reclaim and customs and then you are on your own.

Edinburgh is a small airport in relation to Manchester and Heathrow where there is more than one terminal building. So you don’t have to worry about which terminal to go to.

If you are meeting someone then you could arrange to meet at a designated meeting point or ask the person that is meeting you to suggest a suitable place to meet. They are more likely to know the best place to meet to avoid any confusion and thus avoiding any extra unnecessary stress. The short stay car park is only a few minutes walk from the main terminal building.

With no rail connection to Edinburgh airport you could use Edinburgh shuttle bus service, which runs a regular service to and from the city centre and the main hotels. There is also a bus service (service Airlink 100) to the city centre every 10 to 15 minutes and takes around 20 to 25 minutes depending on the traffic. This service is cheaper but will not take you to your hotel unlike the shuttle bus.

There is the usual airport taxi service and like all airport taxi services they are not the most economical however they do provide the most convenient way to travel direct to any accommodation you may have booked or for other destinations when time is a major factor.

You can hire a car from one of the car rental desks in the airport, however it would be a cheaper option to book online prior to your arrival and get the car you want ready for collection. This will save you money and time and make sure you get the car you want and also to better plan your travel budget.

Travelling to and from the airport has been found to be one of the most stressful times for people so reduce your anxiety and do some simple planning ahead.
