According to research by Drug Safety Researcher Thomas J. Moore, prescription drugs kill over 100,000 Americans every year. Yet, there is no war on prescription drugs!

Drugs:

1. Pharmacology. a chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being.
2. (in federal law)

a. any substance recognized in the official pharmacopoeia or formulary of the nation.
b. any substance intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in humans or other animals.
c. any article, other than food, intended to affect the structure or any function of the body of humans or other animals.
d. any substance intended for use as a component of such a drug, but not a device or a part of a device.
3. a habit-forming medicinal or illicit substance, esp. a narcotic.

Drug Dealer = One Who Sells Drugs! (see qualities of a psychopath here)

Here’s a blast from the past and some serious food for thought. This is your brain on drugs:

One night I couldn’t sleep so I went on a cleaning rampage while listening to an infomercial on tv. This guy was talking about natural cures and how certain plants and herbs have healing properties but can’t be patented. He talked about how the government and pharmaceutical companies can’t make money on plants they can’t patent…he went on to say that for this reason the FDA passed a law stating that only a drug can treat or cure diseases/illnesses.Of course everything he said made sense to me…and I wasn’t surprised to find out that his 1st book was banned in the United States. I have yet to get my hands on his latest book but I’m looking forward to reading it and keeping it on hand as a reference. Natural Cures and Remedies are the way to go.

My dad had kidney failure and extreme hypertension. He was prescribed so many different medications he had to literally keep them in a huge bag. He died in 2002. Many of the prescription drugs he took are being recalled and/or taken off the market….The stories I can tell about prescription drugs……

Its funny how profitable the drug industry really is and how few if any cures have been discovered. (There’s no money in curing sick people but plenty in keeping people sick).

The street dealers are making peanuts compared to the real drug dealers. The war on drugs is a joke!

I completely agree with you that the war on drugs is a joke compared to the pharmacies!
This is one of the major reasons why I just tune out when people start harping about health insurance-I say start with the REAL problems-the cost of doctors, hospitals and prescriptions! Once that has been resolved, not having health insurance-except with major illness-will not be that big of a deal!

I’m looking forward to reading it and keeping it on hand as a reference. Natural Cures and Remedies are the way to go.

Its a big industry with a huge market as you can see through the markups. Most drugs sell on big hypes and instant reliefs with side effects later on. Natural cures and alternative treatments are as effective but require some belief and patience.

You’re definitely right! One thing maybe this is also one of the reasons why there are lots natural or herbal medicines that exists.

Shannon March 14, 2008

I remember Heath Ledger he died because of the mix of the medicines he intake. I was wondering why he never got scared intaking those drugs, yet he knows it’s dangerous..

SJ March 14, 2008

A lot of people are switching to herbal treatments because of this.

All I can say is that it makes me glad to live in the UK when I see stuff like this – all drugs are teh same price (about $12)

Oh my god, they do more profit than everybody else, they sell it with more than 100% add :(

It’s amazing how much cheaper generic drugs are, and yet people keep shelling out for the ridiculously overpriced brand names

Samuel Barns July 30, 2008

Evidence indicates your theory could be very true about there not being any money in keeping you well.

As a marketer for one of the largest generic drug manufacturers in the USA, I am all too familiar with the cost differences between brand named and generic drugs.

Love the post, but you can't be messing with me with titles like that! :-)

Yeah Prices on Prescribed drugs are out of control. I order all my expensive scrips from Canada and the others are coming from walmart.

Go, Blog! February 1, 2009

I really believe its so true that many people and some even other doctors invented herbal medicine.. maybe for the fact that so many medicine have side effect which we have never known… In philippines the new government ordered the law of controlling the prices of prescriptive drugs…

sincerely,

Wow! I knew a generic drug was cheaper, but I didn't know that there was that much of a mark-up! I'm going to make sure that I always get generic drugs!

along with health insurance companies the pharmaceutical companies have a monopoly on the public and use it to the maximum.
