Kennedy Family Endorses Barack Obama: Change IS In The Air!

Hmmm it smells like a New Generation of Leadership!

NY TIMESI said it a few weeks ago and Ted Kennedy agrees, “I feel change in the air.”

The younger brother of JFK and second longest serving member of the United States Senate endorsed Barack Obama this afternoon saying,“I know that he’s ready to be President on day one. And when he raises his hand on Inauguration Day, at that very moment, we will lift the spirits of our nation and begin to restore America’s standing in the world.”

According to Ted Kennedy:

  • Barack Obama is the one person running for President who can bring us that change
  • Barack Obama is the one person running for President who can be that change
  • With Barack Obama, we will end a war in Iraq that he has always stood against
  • With Barack Obama, we will break the old gridlock and finally make health care what it should be in America
  • With Barack Obama, we will close the door on the old economics that has written off the poor and left the middle class poorer and less secure.
  • With Barack Obama, we will close the book on the old politics of race against race, gender against gender, ethnic group against ethnic group, and straight against gay
  • With Barack Obama, we will turn the page on the old politics of misrepresentation and distortion
  • With Barack Obama, there is a new national leader who has given America a different kind of campaign–a campaign not just about himself, but about all of us

The daughter of JFK, Caroline Kennedy also endorses Barack Obama. She says:

  1. You are so right, change is in the air! The Clinton’s felt they had that endorsement in the bag, and the ripples of shock from not receiving it is still being felt and played out on tv. I am glad that a politician chose to back a candidate based on issues rather than who has them to BBQs at their home.

  2. Murad says:

This presidential is definitely different then any we have ever had with the candidates that are running and the emphasis they seem to place on the word change. I don’t think any of them have given a speech that didn’t contain the word change. But I suppose that is what getting elected president is all about.

  3. This will surely shake up the race. I think the clintons will be in trouble. The country is not yet ready for a lady president.

  4. Obama is definitely a good candidate. He seems to relate to the public well. I don’t get that icky feeling after listening to him speak. It’s not surprising he is getting big names to back him.
