A label applied to people who are more negative than positive when discussing another person. It most commonly refers to individuals whose negativity is so extreme that it is all-consuming. However, there are various levels and forms of being a hater, ranging from completely dismissing any positive traits or actions, to merely painting a less than flattering picture by using words with negative connotations. Hating is often attributed to jealousy, but just as often, it seems to stem from some other source. —Urban Dictionary
How To Effectively Deal With Haters:
There will always be haters, it’s how YOU deal with haters that determines your walk on the living life abundantly path.
You may encounter haters at work, school, and/or even within your own family.
Rule #1
Never argue, confront, or struggle with haters. When you engage the hater, you give them the power to control and manipulate you.
- Wisdom is too high for a fool.
- Do not answer fools according to their folly, or you yourself will be just like them.
- As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.
Rule #2
Kill haters with kindness. No matter what the hater does or says remember and practice The Golden Rule, treat them the way you want to be treated, despite how they treat you.
- What goes around comes around, you will reap what you sow.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.
Rule #3
Never let haters throw you off your game. Nothing pleases a hater more than to see you fail. Focus intently on achieving your goals and being the best you that you can be. Stay positive and look for the good in every situation. Think good thoughts! Expect good.
- You will attract into your life the people, ideas, and circumstances that harmonize with your dominant thoughts.
- As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
- Success is the greatest revenge.

AMEN! My heart is heavy from dealing with “haters,” who seem to be everywhere, stealing your emotions, your goodness, etc. This is definitely the way to go. Love, to all you haters; hope you get a life at some point, besides being a “hater,” that is….

T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U for WHOSOEVER posted this! I NEEDED to hear that, and I LOVE Jill Scott anyway, but I had not heard this song! IT’S TRUE!! That’s how I came to this site ANYWAY. I get tired of Satan coming at me through a pair of people who I wonder are actually people, or just straight up demons. I know that God is in control, and He can put favor in the hearts of those who He wants you to have favor from, and therefore He can do the opposite too. It’s hard though, but what would the reward be if it weren’t?
I THANK you for your SCRIPTURAL ADVICE. Believers are commanded to OBEY/LOVE God, and be made perfect, and into the image of God, reflecting Jesus. Jesus makes it clear, VERY clear that we are to L-O-V-E our enemies in Matthew 5:44-48, below is the King James Version (KJV):
” 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
This is not something that feels easy. But if He commands us, He who is just and fair will enable us to perfectly complete His instructions.
It is still hurtful, makes my stomach sick–actually physically sick. It used to be MUCH worse, though-from one of the haters.
But I KNOW that that’s not God’s Spirit. God has a spirit of love. God is love. (”He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”–1 John 4:8 (KJV)).
So “let not your heart be troubled, friends,” suffering from haters. You CAN get through this with Christ’s help. He gave us the Holy Spirit as our helper. Let’s pray whenever we need help following God’s commands for our life, that He HELPS us. He will. Not only us, but people EVERYWHERE, believer, non-believer, and those who claim believer.
Also, do not be surprised by the ones who are the judges, they are the haters most often. They look down their noses at EVERYONE in some way, and like mentioned on this blog, they more often than not have something negative to say. Let’s pray for our enemies, as we are commanded, and PLEASE brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s pray for each other and the EVERYONE to seek and FIND help in Christ when dealing with Satan’s attacks.

Very wise words. I am surrounded by haters and negativity so much sometimes it is hard to stop myself from acting like the lady in the first picture, but like you said, sometimes it is better to focus on what our objectives are than to allow haters to consume us.
