Most people get up everyday and go to work for the paycheck, not because they simply love their job and have nothing better to do with their time. Working pays the bills. When it comes to a job, at the end of the day (for most people) it all boils down to one thing—
“It’s all about the Benjamins Baby!”
As the days of 2007 slip by, it’s time to say good bye to being over worked and under paid. Your boss has no problems with adding to your work load or asking you to stay over time…so it should be just as easy for you to request a raise for all of your hard work.
A major part of living life abundantly involves asking for what you want, believing you deserve it, and being open to receiving what you’ve asked for.
My grandmother always says “a closed mouth doesn’t get fed,” so if a raise is what you want, need, and deserve, ASK for it!
Here’s How:
Before you go running into the boss’ office requesting more money, do an honest performance evaluation of your work to determine if you really deserve a raise. Everybody wants a raise but not everybody deserves one.
The employee that takes initiative, goes above and beyond the call of duty, and takes pride in their work is often the employee that gets the accolades, bonuses, recognition, and raises…Is that you?
Once you have answered these questions, organize your thoughts, put it on paper, and choose an appropriate time to present your request to your boss.
If you are the outstanding employee that you think you are, the quality of your work speaks for itself and your formal written request for a raise, simply shows on paper, the value of your work.
Remember, there is a time and place for everything, timing is important! You want to catch your boss on a stress free good day when everything is going his/her way!
Ask. Believe. Receive.

Fabulous tips!
I’ve been considering asking my boss for a raise, and I think I’ll probably do it sometime in the early new year. Thanks for the advice =D
Those are really good and powerful questions to ask ourselves before we go for the raise request. Those question will be asked by the boss too, so it actually also gives people time to prepare for the answer and answer it smoothly to the boss!
I was bit confused that whether i should ask for salary hike or not?
But after reading you article i think i should have a discussion with my boss.
Nice article, keep it up !!!!!
Good post. I have a friend who constantly complains about being underpaid, but does nothing about it. I am sending him the link to your page. He needs to take your advice.
cool thanks Jason, I hope your friend gets the raise he deserves
Thank you for such a nice information about asking to boss the raise for the job. It is true that if you really work hard for your boss then you deserve a raise.
This is a great post for anyone complaining about not getting paid enough. If you are valuable to your company, and have proven that through your hard work and efforts over an extended period of time then there is no reason not to ask for a raise. It’s about getting out of your comfort zone and stepping up to do it. Nobody is going to just hand you a raise unless you ask for it.
I try several times to ask for raise and very importan thing is type of person of your boss.Different aproach for different boss person.
I think that people should try sometimes to use jokes and on funny way to show to boss that they are prepeare for better salary.
Very good tips, everyone should pay a Correct attitude on your ability before you want to rise your earnings
Wow this ones was right up there in the tops for me.
I think you have given me some confidence to ask my boss for a raise, actually he does give a raise without asking but I think if ever I feel the need this post will help me.
You’ve said a mouthful here! We need to stand up for ourselves, and ask for the money we deserve. Congratulations on your fantastic blog.
I have been running my own business for over 20 years and if someone had bothered to do the work you outline here and came to me for a raise, I would most likely give them it. Great post!
Thanks for a good article. I used to feel bad and cheap asking for a raise, but it´s not really about the money. You get hired for doing a job, but if you bring a lot extra to the job, you deserve to get something for it. Just be sure to be confident before you talk to your boss, so you don´t end up making excuses for asking for a raise.
It can be tricky. I work in a small company, and it´s not going very well. I work harder than ever, but I would feel stupid asking for a raise, when I know that the last thiong the company needs is more expenses.
nice tips… thx
Thanks for a great article. It gave me the courage to finally start convincing myself that I deserve that raise. After convincing myself, convincing my boss was quite easy

You're so right! Basically everyone works to get paid which eaquals money and a big smile on their face. That's the onyl reason why I work, to be honest with you
great blogs
thx for your information
Great tips – remember that if for any reason you boss does not give you a raise ask him or her – what do you need me to do / deliver that would warrant a raise? Should get them thinking and you will have clear points to deliver against!
