College & Time Management

Time is the one thing we cannot get back, therefore we must spend our time wisely. While in college, time management is one of the biggest and most important lessons. This is what makes or breaks the transition from high school. There are no bells in college… No parents to get you up and off to class. In college you are responsible for your time.

To manage your time effectively get organized.

Use a weekly planner to stay on schedule. Use your planner to keep track of assignment due dates and tests to avoid procrastination. Include your group study sessions and labs in your planner so that you don’t forget them. Your planner should include important dates regarding, tuition, financial aid, registration deadlines etc… Also, make note of social functions and activities you plan to attend in your planner too (you have to make time for fun).

In college there’s always so much to do and with seemingly so little time. However, with some planning and organization you’ll have plenty of time to take advantage of all that college has to offer.

Yeah! I did a planner many times before. But honestly I wasn’t able to follow the schedule effectively. My college life is really busy as my course offers a lot of assignments and practical works. Sometimes there are many unexpected things happened. For example, one of my group members suddenly absent for a recording. Therefore, the time we book for the recording studio was wasted. And I have to wait for another day which have a free time space to do it. So after that, I never do a planner anymore. Anyway I promise myself not to waste my time. :)

i occasionally use a planner, but it can be difficult to stick to as things just happen, but they are good for definite dates like interviews etc… i find using a daily list to be more helpful and add to it at night to complete the following day

I never considered using a planner before because it’s bothersome to carry; plus it looks gay. Maybe now that I can no longer juggle my schedule, I’ll use one. But I’ll get a planner that doesn’t make me look pansy.
